http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=780466worktape of a rock n roll song about misfit youth sent off to college by parents hoping it will straighten out their kids... the kid himself cant decide if he wants it to work or not-lol...my lyrics and music/vocals done by Kai Hermo..... College Therapy Days Copyright 2011 Yeager/Hermo Within these ivory towers I roam --though I know you want to rhyme with roam, I wonder if this bad a$$ kid would say within and roam?? just something to consider...A wicked boy launched far from home Yes I was sent here to learn-that I may someday lead And all It Takes Is some beers And weed Just to get me through all of this That someday my ass you'll kiss-- funnycause I'll be In charge so God help you Yes my revenge rs comin due Sittin here reflectin on my evil ways College Therapy Days College Therapy Days Hopein that this doesnt work anyways (hopin' or hoping..not hopeing) maybe he DOES need to study more in college... I am JUST picking at ya, Tom!!... College Therapy Days College Therapy Days--- very catchy chorus!!Hopein that this doesnt work anyways My original intent back in my high school days With my youthful lies and wicked ways-- maybe since you have used wicked in the song already maybe something else would work..with my youthful lies, mind in a haze? Gonna be so much better yes you'll see Just a million dollars later with a new degree Oh whats a poor college boy to do Should I learn how to heal or learn how to sue --though sue totally works...he would sound even more "wicked" to say scr*w..jmhoWhatever moves and oh hell whatever doesnt Sittin here reflectin on my evil ways College Therapy Days College Therapy Days Hopein that this doesnt work anyways College Therapy Days College Therapy Days I guess I'm hopein this treatment works College Therapy Days College Therapy Days Oh Lord Almighty please kill this curse A double major-of love and life Come trouble major-a job and wife Waitin to plow me under when I escape from here oh make it last-my senior year Oh whats a poor college boy to do Should I learn to heal or learn to sue Whatever moves and oh Hell whatever doesnt But hey that really even wasn't My original intent back in my high school days With my youthful lies and wicked ways Gonna be so much better yes you'll See Just a million dollars later -with a new degree Very catchy...I like it , good music, vocals, very endearing lyrics...I say with a couple of small tweaks, you have a winner..:) Kim

I agree he is very talented, as are you. I just felt that first line didn't line up with the vernacular of a college kid, troublemaker, weed smoker, etc.. But that is up to you of course.. still have the song in my head, so that's a good thing:) Kim

Hi Tom Long time no see, I haven't listened to one of your songs for a while now, it's very nice to see you on the Mp3 forum. As to the song, I loved it, it's very catchy, and as to the lyrics, this Aussie girl is not talented enough in that area to give you feedback. Well done! Hugs Michele

Hi Michele
nice to see you again as well-glad you thought the song was catchy....
always open to lyric critiques-whatever they are-from anyone and everyone.......although rock n roll is supposed to be mindless fun and not make complete sense anyway-its good to know if I "lost people" in my telling of the story........as best I could I tried to keep a lucid train of thought about the character and college angst and all that-lol......
thanks again for the listen

Kai thinks this is a country rock thing ala Keith Urban more than rock n roll
be interested to know how yall feel about the genre question-is it more country rock or rock n roll to you?

Fun tune, good musical treatment and nice little lead in there.
Because of the topic/subject, I don't see it as a country tune. Alt/college rock might be better. The lyric/music didn't give me any empathy (or sympathy) for the singer -- and that seems semi-high on the list theses days for country.
"College Therapy Days" sounds like a tough hook to sing.
Overall, I'd say it was pretty decent.

you made good points about the analysis of the genre Kevin-thanks!
its more rock n roll to me as well.........
I think Kai did a great job of singing the hook and this song seems to stick in peoples minds pretty well-which is what we want
thanks alot for the listen and good luck with your own great stuff.......

Tom: "The best lessons I learned/and won't go away/ were outside of class, where --/ I learned how to play" . . . this tune opens up all sorts of lyric possibilities . . . The main hook is catchy, but leaves me perplexed. Kevin is correct about it being difficult to sing. I liked the energy, at any rate. Ott

thanks for the critique Ott
I really think -or hope that this is a song that young people will go for......has had good reviews in Songramp-another songwriter site I am in......theres alot more rock in that site generally speaking-and it has been pretty well received there....given that its so new.....Just uploaded a newer version cause the old one was a bit rushed.....vocally.....its just a preference thing and basically you know how it is if you just plain believe in a song-you are sorta along for the ride despite the bumps and grinds of those who just dont get it or like it......appreciate your suggestions and honesty that it doesnt grab you.....prefer honesty to false praise.......this song definitely isnt for everybody but I think its target audience of young college age kids will like it........down the road my co-writer and I wanna do a full demo of the best version we can lay down and then pitch it to the music licensing catalogs......again I appreciate the honesty that you dont like it-not everybody will-but I am hopeful that its on target for the youth audience..............reckon we shall eventually see
thanks again for the listen

Tom, I think the music is really great in this song and so is the production - some great playing. I think the lyrics are well done too. I found the hook "college therapy days" to be a little bit of a mouthful given the speed of the music - just imagining a bunch of college students at a frat party screaming out the hook! However, that being said, I think that the hook is well constructed musically because it sticks in your head. I guess that is the only thing that stands out to me, but nice writing....

you know thats exactly what I myself can imagine.......I myself think it just stays in your head.......it has stayed with me-I find myself singing the chorus alot and I am the worlds worst singer.......its got good music and in my opinion just bounces right along.....I think Kai did a great job on the music and vocals....he sounds so all American-hard to believe he is from Norway-but of course the best singers always know how to lose their accents when they sing.....
thanks for the listen and comments
