Nelson, It doesn't look like I am going to get MAB to take his share of the credit for this one. But I'll go to my grave thanking him for the song's hook.

Dottie, I know you've been waiting for 30 years since they promised the money would trickle down. Be patient. Be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day. Our day is coming. They promised us.

I like the idea of sending it to the Republican party. It's got a sort of Woodie Guthrie feel to it and he probably would have done the same thing with it. I'd probably flesh it out some more with some additional verses but sometimes the simplest form is the best. In any respect, the hook is still bouncing around in my head long after the song has stopped. Nice job.

Bobby, Doug & Kimberly, Thanks for the comments. The song probably needs a few more verses and maybe a bridge or something. After I got the hook from MAB, I just threw these two verses together fast and made a quick worktape of it.

I'll get back to this one and see if I can finish it up.

Neat nifty little tune Dan... I was hearing accordion in it.

Mike, I bet it would sound good with an accordian. I love the accordian sound. If I could play, I'd probably put one on every song of mine. It would also sound a whole lot better if real musicians and a singer were to perform it. But I do the best I can. I'll finish up the lyrics when I get a chance and maybe post it again.

Ott, As usual, your comments are humorous and perceptive at the same time. The only thing wrong with your maple tree analogy is that the sap eventually - if s-l-o-w-l-y - does trickle down to the bucket at the bottom of the tree. The money never seems to.

Teachers are being taught just how worthless they are, police and fireman have to risk their lives for less, EMT's and nurses too, while the fat cat corporations don't have to pay a dime.

Overtime and time and a half are vanishing, you gotta work ten to sixteen hours for the same amount you'd normally get....sheeeeet! who do "they" think is ever gonna cover those hours...LOL

But it's all gonna backfire soon, we'll be bagging us some tea partyers and some former politicians and shipping them off to a non-union low paying job somewhere where they can't hurt anybody with thier fantasies and hypothisis about reducing the deficit.
