Very nice and sad lyrics. I like that the hook "If It Wasn't For Dreaming of You" was used at the beginning as well as at the end of the chorus, so it has become definitely more memorable. I also love especially the lines
"Sometimes I drive my pickup
Down the backroads we knew well".
So much truth in them... I did the same...

Hi Shayne, I'm having a little trouble hearing a melody for this, but that's not unusual for me, and I'm sure you have one! My favorite part is the bridge, especially this line; So I could take back what I said Nice touch there.  Dottie

Other then stumbling here and there over the switches in the pattern I liked this lyric. Simple tale of love gone wrong and well written from the "singers" point of view.
It always impresses me how writers such as yourself can take a topic that has been used and create another story around it.
