I've been writing lyrics for me and others since about 11 or 12 years. Sometimes I never get down to creating the music as well although I always have a tune in my mind when writing. There is either the music my partners have recorded or a melody that sort of comes along with the text in my mind automatically. Eventually 29 lyrics out of 163 have ended without ever being set to music (somebody once was interested in "without you" from the list, but I've never heard from him again). These are the titles that, to my knowledge, have not been set to music - yet: 42 addicted by the pool by the seven seas cut you out don't hurt me down the drain drifting driving apart drunken night Europa [naughty word removed] being cool glad that you're here God of the ants gotta see my shrink high expectations how come I cannot leave it at that I won't give in I'm not that kind of guy life in secret look forward once a year pastures new Phoenix stopped wanting you wanting me summer solstice night take me seriously without you You find them scattered over my Web site http://bernd-harmsen.de or in my compilations: http://www.archive.org/details/BerndsFirstHundredLyricscorrectedEditionand http://www.archive.org/details/BerndsLyrics20092010Bernd

I Know That Feeling, Amigo...I've got over 2000 that sit here on the Various Boards..awaiting that Elton John/Keith Richards to Make Something Happen!
The Urge to pen lyrics to "Take Me Seriously" is a strong one, but I never..to my knowledge..snitch a Title.. (Unless it's an Obvious One..that's NOT been a Hit for Over a Decade..& In-It-Floats outta Spiritus Mundi~) That Particular Hook IS a Great One!
Good Luck with all 29 of yours, Amigo! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

I sort of have the same problem -- I need good music AND good lyrics (ha, ha).

"We are all millionaires, billionaires even, because right now we have today. And today is worth more than all the wealth we can imagine. So spend today wisely. Spend tomorrow wisely. Enjoy the wealth of today, and realize it is worth far more than all the money and possessions of tomorrow and beyond." -Brian Austin Whitney
