I was blindsided. You got the best backing vocals that anyone can find hanging around the boards. An amazing project to pull off... and the song was great too.

I have to confess I already heard the bootleg version (ha, ha). Love the production and in my opinion you are the #1 writer here at JPF -- and this one just solidifies your reputation.

Hey Scott...
Nice...you embraced the hook with both arms and didn't let go. (I hope that makes sense). Great backing vocals...you chose well.

I was blindsided. You got the best backing vocals that anyone can find hanging around the boards. You're telling me, Ben... I had reservations about asking so many talented singers to join in - I don't know, the song just didn't seem worthy of it. But I wanted to give a shot at getting what I was hearing in my head - so I'm glad I asked all of them. And even gladder that they agreed Thanks, Scott

kevin Man, I don't know how to even respond to that, Kevin - as it is pretty far removed from my own self-assessment So I'll simply say thank-you. P.S. Believe it or not, the inspiration for this came as I was reading through the "compilation thread" at the end of December. Scott

Hi Scott,
Another Scott Campbell classic. I agree with Kevin. You represent the best among us all here. My only nit is I would have liked to hear more of the gals, especially singing in harmony rather than in unison on their individual parts but I know that would present it's own problems logistically doing so over the Internet. Still another great song. Congratulations are in order once again.

Absolutely beautiful!! I agree you are an amazing writer!!! Thanks Caroline. Not 100% sure I'm not ripping someone off - I get that feeling whenever something comes easy. The music, hook, and basic idea behind the song came real fast. I will admit to struggling a bit over the verse lyrics, trying to say what I wanted and still keep those infernal internal rhymes. Thanks again for the nice words. Scott

Smooth production. Congrats to the female choir! So often the best way to help people is not to help them. It takes a wise man to know when and when not to give support. That's what I got out of your lyrics Scott. Very meaningful lyrics! Two thumbs up. I'd add a tad more reverb on the lead vocal. Best, John

Stevie Thanks Stevie As I've told you, I often wish I could write more like you. I might have to revisit the mix on this. Of the 8 female vocal tracks (some sent two tracks) I believe only two track the melody at that point. The others are singing harmony. Was a tricky thing to mix - but I enjoyed every minute of it Thanks Pal, Scott

I'll experiment with adding a little more reverb. Yeah, that's pretty much what I had in mind. I wanted the last verse to put a little spin on it. Yes, he's thanking people for acting (or not acting) in such a way as to make him a better person - but he also is thanking them because he knew it was hard for them to do that... Appreciate the listen and suggestion, John. Scott

Ott Hi Ott: The first thought that popped into my mind was Thank-you. Wasn't but a minute before it got modified. I think it might be because my wife and I have been spending time with a friend who is just learning English There are a few songs with "Thanks Be To You" as the title - but I haven't found any yet that bear any resemblance to this one. Thanks Ott Scott

Hey hey A slew of my favorite people in one place on one song As always good song buddy, I loved the 50's vibe. And nice move getting all the girls you slick dude you lol LOL - I did what I was too chicken to do in High School. I asked Yeah, I started with the 70's, worked back to the 60's, then took a jump to the 20's. I'd do the 40's next but I don't have a big band. Thanks Pal - your spirit is in this song - the way you are kind to people but still have a way of telling them what they need to do to get better. Scott

Tracy Thanks Tracy I will admit that I always wanted to write a song in the vein of Forever Young or Let it Be - where the chorus is mostly or entirely a repetition of the hook. Not that I'm comparing this to those - just indicating the influences Glad you like Scott
