This may sound a little ambitious but with your help maybe we can revive, restart, or resurrect some kind of a music scene in the Spokane vicinity. A simple way to start is by signing up with Just Plain Folks and communicating across this forum. (Please read the about section on the home page. JPF is loaded with resources and info) By joining you, as well as members you are chatting with, are spot lighting yourselves as artists who are serious about their craft.
How about discussions about varies topics and discover interests and tastes in genres with people in our area. I would like to get to know some of you out there and jam. But I’m not going to post an ad on Craigs list or the bulletin board at Guitar Center and wait and see what comes through the door.
This forum could be a great way to get to know each other and connect by age group, style and talent level. Who knows, if we got a couple hundred of us in the Northwest US Chapter as they call it, we could put together the first annual JPF picnic, party and jam. How awesome would that be? Would that attract any attention?

I saw your post on craigs list, what a neat site, thanks for the post. I have been a musician in Spokane for along long time, I got turned off by the bar scene years ago. In my mind spokane does not have time for entertainment or even much culture, I am not bashing I love this town. We get few headling national acts because we dont fill the arena, If you cant fill a arena with those top billing acts that get force fed to us everyday on radio and tv. how is a small timer going to fill a small hall. You read about people bashing street musicians who basically play music for free and people arownd here dont dig that. They dont even want free how you going to charge them in a hall. Dont get me wrong I know some people are kind enough to tip the street guys, My point is they would do it even if there were no tips. I am being long winded I will collect my thoughts and post again later

Nice to meet you Tyronne, I'm really glad you posted. I'm a singer songwriter and I really would like to meet some people around town.I know a few that play but you can never have too many pals, right? Theres a lot of chatting going on at Craigs list but it sure is negative. I'm hoping that doesn't happen here. I'll check out your Myspace page.

Ya I thought that too. Like a low rent commercial building with some basic sound and recording equipment.

I dont enjoy playing for drunks. grange halls used to be popular. But with those you had to come up with the scratch first and hope you made your money back.

tom- I just joined a couple of days ago so I just saw this post-- I live down here in Idaho- I'm about 3 hours from you but I'm ready to get things going around here as well- I volunteered to do the Boise/idaho coordinator thing but got no response so I guess I'm on my own out here- I'd be willing to help you no matter the distance- I really want to get this going- Let me know if you're still interested - You have a willing cohort in me- Thanks Tom Tim
