Good morning Kevin,

Thanks a bunch for taking a listen to this one. We've sure had a lot of fun with it!

BTW, anytime you want to call us "pretty cool", feel free; we're fine with it wink ....

Thanks again,

Ricki and Beth,

Great song and Andy did a great job giving it some groove.

I always love Ricki's melodies and she is groaning just knowing that I sang this through...

Ricki, everytime you get to a chorus, I want to wrap my arms around you to get you to sing it out. Now, this is coming from a girl who had a choir teacher that made us lay on the floor with bricks on our stomach while we were singing......I just want you to push out more styling and volume and sort of pull out more, because the words and music are there and what is great is that your melody allows for lots of creativity in there, blow it out of the box girlfriend!!!

Really great song.

HiDee Beth & Ricki!

I wondered how ya'd met Andy K(arpinski)..whom I've co-written with in St. Petersburg...over the years...then..the DUH Moment arrived..heh! (Nicely-done, Bro Mork!)

I wanted to sug maybe only 2 things here: A bit Faster-Pacing...and "..show you that it's safe to stay..Hey-Hey-Hey"

& maybe a tiny ad-lib at the tail: "Somebody call 9-1-1"....heh!

An Instant Classic! KUDOS & Good Luck with it Gals & Gent!
Best Wishes & Big Hugs,
Stan

Beth, Absolutely loved it.

Has a playful charm and a cool hook. I like the double voices at the end.
Nice change up in the vocal delivery, in the bridge.

It's all good, Darlin. smirk

Hiya MFB,

Thanks a bunch for swinging by to take a listen on this one. We sure appreciate the kind comments. It's soooo much fun for me to watch how this has progressed from a nugget of an idea to a full-fledged song. What a great early Christmas present smile .

Thanks again to everyone involved, yourself included smile ...

I like the electric guit. It's really pretty top notch, but it's got some timing issues that distracted me in spots.

I can't remember hearing a tune from Ricki that has a chorus that lifts as nicely as this one. This just sounds like a song!

Peace,

Ian

Hi there Ian,

Well, coming from you, this is high praise indeed smile . I'm so glad you got a chance to take a listen. A lot of work has gone into this one...with a couple of rewrites on the lyrics, some tweaks on the musication, and then Andy's additions...so your feedback is especially appreciated (even the "small nits").

Thanks a lot for letting us know your thoughts smile .

Take care,
Beth

Hi Tams,

Thanks for listening and your generous comments. I never groan when you stop by. But I thought I was WAILING on this one, thanks to Beth's wail worthy lyrics. Of course, I could have really cut loose but all those bricks were weighing me down! smile
I know what you're saying, but it doesn't come easy. I've vastly improved but have a long way to go. I'll get there. Thanks for all the encouragement.

Hi Nelson,

Thanks for listening and letting us know you like this. "Playful charm and cool hook" has Beth written all over it. She has all that and is even fun to work with, but don't tell her or her head will swell even more! smile

Thanks to everyone for taking a listen to my butchering of Flight Risk. I've not played with my Wah for ages and last night seemed like the perfect time to dust it of and get some Shaft on the go smile

Again Andy...thank you so much for adding such great sizzle to this one for us. And gosh, if you call that "butchering"...I can't wait to hear what you think is worthwhile!

I loved it, and I'm quite confident Shaft would have totally dug it too smile .

Thank you!!

Put two chords together and it's going to remind you of something. That intro DID remind me of this:

Hi Tammy,

Bricks on your stomach, huh? Wow, sounds like the handiwork of a Nun, for sure smile ...

Anyhoo, glad you liked the song. It took a bit more effort than usual this time, but I think the extra work paid off. Then to have Andy come on board too, well, that was just the icing on the cake.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by with your helpful feedback.

Hi there Ampersand Man,

Andy added quite a funky layer to this didn't he? As luck would have it, HE found US -- and I couldn't be more grateful.

Glad you feel it has "an Instant Classic" sort of groove. Frankly, I don't have time or patience for the "EVENTUALLY-PROBABLY-LONG-AFTER-YOU'RE-DEAD-AND-BURED-IT-WILL-BE-A-CLASSIC" deal wink .

Seriously, thanks for all your generous feedback Stan. We appreciate you taking a listen smile ....

Hi guys,

I agree with the others about the guitar adding coolness to an already cool song….a certain playfulness to slink into! One mention: I can hear it with a faster pace with the guitar too.

Well done all around!

Hey there Nelson,

Wow, thanks for all the great compliments. But I sure can't take credit for the whole thing -- Ricki did the arrangement and original music...Andy funked the music up...and oh yeah,Ricki sang sang sang. grin LOVE the group effort smile .

Regardless, we surely appreciate your kind words. Coming from you, they mean a LOT.

Happy Holidays,
Beth

Hey there,

That was wild...there is a certain similarity. Of course ours is much better wink ...

Kidding aside, thank you for taking a listen and giving us some helpful feedback. We appreciate your visit.

Can't get over how popular this tune is. Ricki and Beth must be over the moon as I am.
Mike the bass is me as well. It's how it turned out funky, I was just going to add a bass part and keep it simple but it all went bootsy very quickly lol
Thanks for taking a listen guys.

Hiya Kristi,

I'm delinquent in getting back to this thread in a timely fashion -- that's the holidays for ya!!

Anyway, thanks a bunch for the second visit. I agree, the tune has taken a decidedly playful direction. As far as picking up the pace, it sounds like there have been a number of different thoughts about ways to interpret this. I think THAT is WAY cool.

Ciao for now and thanks again,
Beth

Hey JM,

First off, where have you been? Good to see you back 'round these parts (as if I'VE been consistent... wink )

Next, thanks so much for taking a listen and offering us such generous feedback. Coming from the likes of you, your comments mean a lot to us.

Finally, given your promixity to me, I might be able arrange a private autograph session while the going is good -- LOL! HO HO HO!!

Seriously though, thanks for your support. How much snow did you get up there? We got about 3 inches maybe...Now the kids are on vacation until January 3rd -- YIKES!!

Enjoy smile ,
Beth

Hi Mike,

Wow, we're getting spoiled having you around lately!! smile

Anyhoo, I'm glad you got a chance to hear this one -- I figured you'd enjoy Andy's enhancements. And yeah, the "Sick Back Track" was my idea, no surprise.

Also "no surprise", I'm quite delighted you enjoyed it. As with JM, praise from someone with your experience is very encouraging.

Thanks again, and have a GROOVY holiday!

xoxo,
Beth

Hi PeteG,

Thanks for letting us know you liked this.

"When I saw the title I thought it might involve total body scans!"

That sounds more like a TampaStan or maybe Calvin song. Us girls (and Andy) are serious! smile

I don't know about a Cougar National Anthem. I'm not into the whole teaching thing. To twist a Saffire lyric around, "Forget about potential, I'd rather have experience"!

Hi Stan,

Thanks for checking this out again. Glad you still like it. We love Andy's addition. It really fills out the song. As for the bridge, I wanted it to jump, so I doubled the tracks and then offset them so they'd echo all over the place. Too much? Well, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess, right? smile

Hey Pete,

Ha, that's an idea! Maybe we should send this to poor Jennifer Aniston wink ....

Anyway, thank you so much for the kind visit. It has been a fun project for sure...and we appreciate your feedback.

As for the body scans...that is a WHOLE different song (though the hook makes perfect sense wink )....

Have a great holiday,
Beth
