Ain't No MOre

Iíve always been my own girl,
With the innocence and beauty
Of a newborn filly colt born into the world
Knew what I wanted had my head on straight
But I fell in love with a raging bull
Chargin' outta the gate

Two stubborn heads ..colliding in a bed of lies
I was spoiled and pampered
This I can't deny
Still it gave you no right to try and beat me down
Treated me worse than an unwanted
Flea bitten hound

I donít know WHO you think you are
You need to take a second look
I'll tell you what you can do
"Note to Self" in your
Lil' Black Book
If I was as bad as you say
I wouldnít wanna live with me
Threw your bags to the curb
No love here to mend
Ain't gonna take no more

Ainít No More

Everything felt so right for the first year or two
You were so perfect I knew your love was true
Then you started accusing me of things you would do
Covering up lies, pickin' fights staying out late
You tried to bring me down
I've had all I can take

Friends say lets sit and talk whatís going on
You donít laugh or smile no more , you sit home all alone
We miss you on Sundays singing your pretty songs
That oleí devil'll tease you, try to get under your skin
He knows there's no way on THIS earth
He'll ever win

I donít know WHO you think you are
You need to take a second look
I'll tell you what you can do
"Note to Self" in your
Lilí Black Book
If I was as bad as you say
I wouldnít wanna live with me
Threw your bags to the curb
No love here to mend
Ain't gonna take no more

Ainít No More

As I step outside tonight, Iíll look to the skies and smile..you said no other man could love meÖÖÖ.....WHATEVERÖ

Ainít No More

Ainít No More

Hey, that intro music was pretty good. Every musical composition seems to be better than the one before it. Just think where you were 2 years ago or 1 year ago -- tons of difference. Of course, the music time takes away from writing lyrics -- but how many songs do you need (ha, ha)? I think your creation of music will lead to better lyrics as you learn what fits and what doesn't.

OK, on this one, I won't mention the distortion on the vocals due to recording too hot (oops, I just mentioned it) -- but I am sure you noticed that. One good things about setting it to music is you get to see how it works. Right now, it feels like way too many words and the "hook" is too buried in there. Now it is time for the re-writing process.

Good luck -- you are doing great!

Kevin

This definitely sounds promising, Glynda.

The main musical sequence is attractive but you'll need to find ways of varying the arrangement at different points in the song if it's to sustain people's interest. Perhaps you could bring in and drop out elements of it as the piece progress, change the drum pattern, and suchlike. Maybe start without any drums at all and then introduce them at the first chorus, or halfway through the first verse, and then come up with another event to signal the start of the second verse. And so on.

The vocal sounds like it was recorded either with the microphone too close to your mouth or with the input levels set too high, possibly both.

The music is good, in fact it's very good. When I first started to listen to it I had the feeling that it was an intro to a kids TV programme. It's defiantly got potential and Steve has given some great advice about maybe dropping the drums for a few bars just to add a bit more interest to the track.

The mic is the only problem and you know that so I shall say no more.

Cool track liked it a lot

Andy

I think the lyric is really good, and the music sounds nice, but I'm not sure the melody is quite there yet and sometimes you're rushing to fit all the words in. For ME, the melody is a real bear! I have a very hard time with that. I have to enlist my Nashville cat for that most times.

Yes, there are a few folks that have tackled the music thing in the past year. I wish I could take the credit -- but it is you (and the others) that did it! Even if you don't do music on future collabs, the fact that you have that musical experience will make you a better lyric writer. Yes, you will need to learn theory/ This book is recommended: Edly's Music Theory for Practical People . I have it -- but haven't done much with it (sad to say).

Keep doing it!

Kevin

Glynda,

I like the idea of changing up the music. You know, as has been mentioned, drums, etc. Something else you could do, if you have the equipment, is add some harmony at different places in the song. I do like this very much and think it has a great beginning. Keep going.

BRAVO Glyn!!! It is not easy doing music, and this is coming along nicely. All of this takes time so just keep at it. I like the lyrics and this line in particular,

Treated me worse than an unwanted flea bitten hound

I think the melody needs a little work, and the delivery as well.
Polly has trouble with the melody, I have trouble with delivery.
It all takes time!

Todd
