Hello everyone, I was introduced to this forum by the lovely and talented Natalie Brown! I had gotten in contact with her regarding any songwriters she might know of that would like to work on an independent project with me. I am putting together my debut CD, and although I have songs, I am looking for more of a Dance/R&B/Pop sound. On my youtube channel, I currently have 2 songs available (just to get an idea of my style) Shannon Brooks Music . If there are any songwriters/musicians interested, please do get in contact with me!

Welcome to JPF. I listened to your first song and was impressed with the clarity of your vocal style. I'm hoping you will go far in a really tough business. You should be able to find lots of material here. Please feel free to "rummage around" and see if anything I have posted at the link below might work for your album. If not, I have a fairly large catalog of available material in several genres.
Regardless, best of luck to you. I hope you will visit us often here at JPF but with the long climb ahead of you, I doubt if you are going to have much time available... and that's a good thing.

My Congrats to You & Your Producer...Very NICE Job on those Recordings!
I pen songs..(Lyrics Mostly..tho I do hear Melodies)..in most every Genre. HEARABLE Ones: (At the JPF MP3 Feedback Forum) June 18th, "Let's Take The Time" (sung by Robert Pickens, Melody Kaufman & Soucey..with the line "Done-it-All" altered to "See-It-All"..to be Gal-Sung. (Robert's got a Good'n' too.."You Brighten My Day" on May 4, 2010, as-well.) I also co-wrote on Michele Bolton's "I'm Over It/I'm Over You"--for the Aussi Market...probably have some Comedic Ones in my Catalogue if you're after Funnier-Fare/can always custom pen ya one..let me know. Michele's is on first or 2nd page of the MP3 Forum.

Hi Shannon! Nice professional-looking page and great music. You have an awesome voice.
I do mostly lyrics and am just starting to get into taking a crack at dance/pop. I do work on melodies some, and I am very new to guitar but can probably help enough to get chords finished for a better musician. I'll be posting more along those lines in the next few days; most of my current lyrics are country.
By the way if you haven't done so yet take a peek at the mp3 feedback forum on this site. Lots of talented people have demos posted already, and you might find something you like.

Thank you, anyway! I do like Gospel music, and eventually I'm sure that's where I will end up staying. I grew up singing in Church, and some of the best singers I've heard are Gospel singers! They have that special anointing.
