Two shows done, two more to do (in this run). Wednesday – we got on late because the previous play overran. It left us with a lot of rushing around to set up the stage. The show flowed fairly well but seemed to lack spark, I noticed that as the show went on the audience were warming up a bit but all in all I would say an on par performance but needed to be slicker. Thursday – We made a few tweaks to the Wednesday show, including a 3 or 4 minute warm up to get the audience going. The cast was a little more hyper this time. This show was a 100% improvement on the previous night. I hope we can keep that vibe going for tonight. I know seasoned actors say things like “every night is different” and it is true. Also, it’s almost as if you have to get the first night out the way sometimes to use as a learning exercise for the other shows. I suppose that’s why so many big shows have pre-shows with an invited audience (I was lucky enough to get invited to one of these by the Opera Company Of Philadelphia when I was there last year). I don’t know if anyone is reading this but if you are, thanks! Nige
