Going to take the advice of my old long lost buddy Tbob and post this one as to pogo stick back out here Always had a love-hate thing with this one... Love the arrangement...Hate the vocals...Maybe I'll get Tbob to sing it... Production's not so good some was on tape I believe and transfered to Audcity... Tbob there was no Timeless Band just me and drummer Sam...but I still gig with the Gene Horne band... http://soundclick.com/share?songid=3974464My Friend The Blues Here I Am Feeling like the fool Listening to her sweet lies again Supposed to meet her here at five And now its half past ten Why does she keep on using me Why do I keep believing in her She’s never going to change I’m standing in the pouring rain Just keeping another rendezvous with my friend the blues Just another verse from that old song You know the one where she always does me wrong I don’t think she’s going to show Time for me to go Tired of being treated so bad She’s running around with every man in town. Inst: Here I am Acting like the fool Thinking she was going to treat me right Supposed to meet her here at five Now it’s almost midnight Why does she keep on using me - Why do I keep on believing in her Its always going to be the same I fall for her over and over again Just keeping another rendezvous with my friend the blues And They keep playing that old song The one where she always does me wrong Yes I know - she’s not gonna show Its time for me to go Tired of being treated like a clown Tired of here running round and round Inst: She just keeps on using me And I just keep believing her She’s never going to change I’m standing in the pouring rain Just keeping another rendezvous with my friend the blues Just keeping another rendezvous with my friend the blues Yeah I got another late night rendezvous with my friend the blues Thanks, Tom

Tom, I couldn't get it to play after trying several times. Don't know why as it played for Bob.

Hi Tom
Well I DID try earlier and there was a problem - but it just played for me...... Glad that i got to listen -- my that some smooth pLaying and writing. It has a real compelling and sad vibe to it -- which is accented by your vocal, actually.... that said - I could really sink my teeth into some powerhouse vocal presence on this. Good song. jm

One of my favorites of yours, Tom. Have it on my iPod and play it a lot. Nice to see it here again, too! Scott

Hi Tom This Aussie girl reckons you have a lovely voice, if I was you, I'd re-work it. Practice makes perfect, and you got the voice, very nice. Love the lyrics, but I'd shorten it in a few places, so it flows better. Remember I'm on my learners, one thing I can tell you, I can't seem to pull myself away from a song until I'm completely happy with it, and I'm saying this because I really like your song, hey. All the best! Example: This line through me a bit! Why does she keep on using me - Why do I keep on believing in her The She, then her, just didn't flow right for me, maybe say it in a different way. Hmm, maybe it's the way your singing it. I think I'll have another listen. Big hugs Michele

Love the guitar and the whole mood of the song. Vocals are fine. Kind of a Santana vibe. T-Bob would be a killer on this. Listening again for the second time.

Hi Tom,
I'm yer neighbor to the west...over here in St. Aug. with Rick Norton. Smooth sound ya got here.....the lead guitar is especially sweet!
Yer voice is right on pitch, dude! You just gotta believe in it, strengthen it and let it rip! If you heard some of my early stuff...very tenuous. I got some vocal exercise cds and "worked out" with 'em.
Having my second listen....actually, your voice works very well with this song. And with some training, you could mix the soft with the strong and really make this come alive.
yerz, Ellen

I'll have to agree with a lot of the previous posts. Good song, guitar, mood etc and I think you voice is just right for this song. Sounds like you got da Blues.

I think it's a great tune. Personally, I think a shorter version might be more effective. IE doing a tag at the 3:15 mark and just ending it there. You've really said all there is to say at that point and the hook might actually be stronger if you just ended it there.
Regardless, this is a really fine tune. Perfect mood. I liked your vocal personally. Really great.
Peace,
Ian

Ellen - Without a security patrol? Thanks for the comments, could use some vocal strength. I think it comes with confidence. I sing more now at gigs...do about 20 songs...funny don't do any of my songs...just covers...stormy monday, etc.. tom

Ian - I agree, tiz very long...I think I just write songs to throw a couple of counter lead guitar parts in I will quit whining 'bout vocals... I will quit whining 'bout vocals... I will quit whining 'bout vocals... thanks so much, tom
