EDIT: Sorry to all, but we have re-done the whole song, after listening to this over and over, we are not happy with it at all. So my producer Rodney has taken it up in key, and it absolutely rocks now. I've redone the vocal, but I need to redo the first two lines and we'd like to add some cockatoo bits and pieces into the song also. When we are fully happy with the song, I'll repost the new version. Thanks, MicheleHugs your Aussie friend always Michele http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9132796 If you listen to this version, please come back and listen to the new one when I post it up, believe me, it's heaps better then this. I am absolutely sitting here amazed at the difference. To all those who said to take it up in key, thanks, you where right! I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU! Too-Many Late Nights I Waited Till You Got Back Too Many 'LAST WARNINGS' Now You're OUT in The Trash I'm the only thing you had I didn't throw in the yard Oh & When You Stagger Back Home DON'T be lookin FOR The CAR..... (CLIMB) Cuz I put on My Jeans & Dried My Eyes I Took the cage with the bird inside (CHORUS) Cuz I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU I DROVE OFF With YOUR COCKATOO This BIRD OF YOURS Knows WHAT-TO-DO NOW I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU! Guess What I Felt for You has Come To Pass Now Let's SEE How Far I GET on One Tank of Gas I'll Leave This Ol' Car.. when it quits..by The Side of The Road I'll put the bird in the Suitcase and see how Far We Go (Ah-She's JOKIN') Cockatoo impersonator (CLIMB) Singing together as we walk along It doesn't really matter if the words are wrong (CHORUS) Cuz I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU You Can Keep Sleepin' With the KANGAROOS I'll BET You'll MISS These Birds That-FLEW But I'm OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU (BRIDGE) I'M SORRY, Mate, IF I RUFFLED Your FEATHERS But LIVIN' With This PARROT Is givin Me FAR-MORE Pleasure Instrumental (CHORUS) I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU This BIRD Talks MORE..to..Me It's TRUE It's a Whole LOT-FRIEND-LI-ER & Sings GOOD Too But I'M OVER IT (CHORUS) I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU There's NO MORE Tellin' Me WHAT-TO-DO So have Fun Kiss'n those KANGAROOS Cuz I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU... (TAG) You're Bein' REPLACED By a COCK-A-TOO (WINK-WINK) Cuz I'M OVER IT I'M OVER YOU I'M OVER YOU I'M OVER YOU I'M OVER YOU

This really rocks out. I remember this one -- nice to see how it got all fleshed out. Pretty cool. Put this together with "Don't Push My Buttons" and you have a good 1-2 punch!
Good luck on the i-tunes thing. Probably the hardest thing is getting folks to know about it.

Hi Michelle This one's a real fun rockin' tune. And it sounds like you are having a good time doing it. I thought the vocal was a little too far back at first but then it seemed to be better and I adjusted to it. The language and Kangaroo reference makes it a local thing but I think most of the world knows what and where they are so it shouldn't be a problem. Good on this one.

Hi Kevin, thanks so much, yeah I reckon it will be a good punch with "Don't push my button", I was talking to Rodney about it this afternoon. I was thinking of changing the music, but I really can't bring myself to do that, so I will be getting Tommirock to mix & master it also, then that will be two songs that I'll have out on the market. Their is a couple of spots that I'm not happy with in "I'm Over it/I'm Over you", and I'm gonna speak to them tomorrow about it, Bill's hit it right on the head, I feel in a couple of places the vocals are not forward enough, hopefully they can fix it, I don't understand all about mixing and mastering, I'll leave that to the professionals, they are a great bunch of guys hey. As to Marketing the song, that's another ball game so to speak, that I have to learn all about, and also the financial side of things, so Rodney and I are gonna look right into that, so that all money's to myself, Stan and Rodney is paid correct. Thanks for your support, so happy to know you like the song. Hugs Michele This really rocks out. I remember this one -- nice to see how it got all fleshed out. Pretty cool. Hi Bill I absolutely love singing this song, and Rodney amazed me with the great music and work he has put into this song, great guy to work with, and Tommirock Records too, great bunch, and Stan, he's an excellent writer, I feel very honored to work with him, so special, so I feel very lucky to know all these great GUYS, they are certainly good at what they do. As the the vocal being sat to far back, I felt the same about it too, especially in the first verse, also the line "Singing together as we walk along", I feel the Singing word bounces or something, hmm, not sure. Thanks for your honesty, cause I felt the same, and being the singer, I've been told they are their worst critic, so I feel better about it that you felt the same way too. As to the Kangaroo's and Cockatoo's, I'm pretty sure all over the world will get it hah. Go the Aussie's! Hugs Michele Hi Michelle This one's a real fun rockin' tune. Hi Robert, Thanks I agree with you, I feel the vocal needs to be brought forward a tad too, especially that first verse, but I feel it's very very close to where I want it to be hey, those guys amaze me how they do all that technical stuff, LOL, that's talent hah. Hugs Michele Michele....a good toe tapper for sure....I would like to hear the vocal alittle more forward also....good tune....good luck to you....love the accent...Bob

WHEEE!!!
Just Finally HEARD IT and I AM HAPPY!!!
OK..Mz M..You Know I Never Hold Back when it's Crit Time..(Especially since I KNOW You are A Pro AND you can Take It..heh!)
ATTITUDE is important on these "Pissed-Off-At-YOU" kinda songs. THINK ya should SOUND More PEEVED..(at least At The Beginning)..thru Most of The Song. (BUT..I'll grantya..You ARE "Over It" by Song's End..& by-then, Ya Are Sounding Fine.)
Nextly: I think the Parrot Sound Effects can work out EXCELLENTLY as a sorta "SideKick". I'd have the Bird ANSWER the "OVER IT" line OFTEN.
I'd punch him in TOO during the Band's SOLO...doing Bits Of An ARGUMENT He's "Recorded" in his little Feathery-Head.
Something like "When are you washing the CAR?"/"Not THIS week Honey" AWK.."I'm going back to my Mom's"/"Let me open The DOOR for ya" AWK...(ALL in BirdVoice..of course...Etc.!)"I'm LEAVING" AWK...
On the OUTRO...I'd use The Bird to fill-in any Gaps in Singing..."OVER IT" AWK...& at near-End: "SHE'S GONE"...and maybe let The Bird have the LAST WORDS: "SHE'S OVER IT" AWK!~
(IF ya do a Video of this'n, just have a Zoom-in Closeup of a Cockatoo in a Hand-Held Cage..opening his beak often-enough..& dub-in the Chit Chat.)
I see Stardom for You..AND that Cockatoo, M'LadyChum! (Might get its Owner to helpya with the Video Budget..eh?) ;-)>
Try "Sing Together..as We Walk Along" on that hard-to-Sing Line, eh?
And..Good Luck with Our GOOD'N', M'LadyChum! Rodney's DELIVERED on his end...& You're doing MIGHTY Fine too...YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
Best Wishes/Eternal Hugs, Ol' AWKwards Stan

Hi Partner, I'm in fits of laughter, you come up with some great idea's, I'm gonna email Joel and get him to read the crits, see what he says, I reckon what your saying would certainly add in a lot of character to the song, and as to that first verse, I can hear what your saying, and I felt I had sang it better then before, but being honest with myself, it's not right hey. I will get back to you tomorrow after talking to Joel hey. I'm off to bed now, I'm exhausted, and I've got a busy day tomorrow. Hugs Michele WHEEE!!!

I'll listen tonite, but after reading Stan's ideas they sound cute. If it doesn't have the bird sounds that would be really novel and cute. Stan Stan the idea man!

Man! I love this song! Grab your suitcase and hit the road. Leave a trail of dust and a stack of bills on the desk. You're outta here! Great, Great song. It has a Thelma and Louis feel to it... could be used in a movie or on the dance floor. Great sports car driving music. Awesome vocals. Awesome in every way.
You're getting sassy, and sounding great. Let 'er rip!

Hi Kevin, you got this Aussie girl in fits of laughter, thanks so much, wait for it to be finished, I'm back into the studio again next week, I'm not happy with my vocal on it, so I'm currently looking for a singing coach that will go with me into the studio, and also I'm in search for a Cockatoo impersonator around Newcastle, so hopefully we can get this song where we want it to be, a number 1! Go the Aussie's! You brightened my day, hugs Michele Man! I love this song! Grab your suitcase and hit the road. Leave a trail of dust and a stack of bills on the desk. You're outta here! Hugs Your Aussie fan Michele Great song Michele!!! Great lines in there, great melody, great vox, LOVED the musication! Toe tappin', knee slappin' fun, upbeat, uptempo, really cute number. Great job to the entire team. I really enjoyed this. Only thing that bothered me lyrically would be in the first Chorus might be to consider this: You have in your 1st Chorus: (CHORUS) Cuz I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU I DROVE OFF With YOUR COCKATOO This BIRD OF YOURS Knows WHAT-TO-DO NOW I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU! That 3rd line didn't sit right w/me. A bird doesn't really know what to do, he's at the mercy of his master(s). Your taking him with you so he's going. How about: Cuz I'm over it I'm over you I drove off with your Cockatoo Your bird and I are through with you (or) Your bird and me are through with you I'm over it I'm over you Otherwise no nits. Yes a few bird sounds in the right places (but not too many) will sweeten the pot even more. This might find itself also in the right film venue. Because you do mention kangaroos it does kind of refer to a specific geographic region which may limit you somewhat but if you had to, you could easily relace that line w/something more universal if need be. Also if someone didn't like the idea of the bird in a suitcase since breathing would be an issue, you could replace the word cage, but I know you mean it in jest although if it took a video form, that part might be alittle tricky and PETA would cry foul (pun intended). I'm gone for another listen, I liked it. Best to all, Lynn

Still some work to do, but I'm pretty sure with a great bunch of guys working with me on this, we'll get it their hah. I will see what my other partners think about what your suggesting, I do get what your saying, so a big thank you. Hi Lynn, Oops, I'm tired, I've already replied to your post, Ok, this Aussie girl is very sleepy. Sorry to take so long, I've been flat out with work, etc, and I'm just about to go to bed cause I'm exhausted. Lynn, thanks for your lovely words, but being honest, this song isn't anywhere near where I want it to be, so I'm currently gonna sit and think about it, cause this song is becoming a very expensive song hey, so I'm currently searching to get some advice on the song, as to my vocal, the Cockatoo, etc. I'm very disappointed at the moment. I believe in this song so much, it's an absolute hoot, fun, so I really appreciate that you like it hey. Hugs Michele Toe tappin', knee slappin' fun, upbeat, uptempo, really cute number. Having caught this at the end of my work day, I can say with all honesty, listening to "I'm Over It/I'm Over You" was highlight of my day! Reminded me of the tune "She's Got The Biggest Parakeet's In Town" .... which, btw, I need to learn ... Simply excellent! Chap

Hi Dan Thanks for having another listen, means a great deal to us, but the song isn't where we want it at the moment, so it's back to Re-doing the music, where going up in key, i'll be re-recording it, adding Cockatoo touches to the song, so I'm hoping you all don't get sick of listening, cause this Aussie girl will be driving you all nuts with this song hah. Hugs Michele I said it before and will say it again ... awesome job my aussie friend ... very fine song and very fine performance I think

Hi Chap So nice to meet you, it's great we have all these newbies on JPF. Thanks for listening, nice to know it made your day, but i'd really like for you to come back when we re-do it, as we feel it's not where we want it to be, so it's back to re-do the music, up in key a touch, and let's see if that makes a big difference. Looking forward to getting to know you and listening to some of your music. Hugs Michele Having caught this at the end of my work day, I can say with all honesty, listening to "I'm Over It/I'm Over You" was highlight of my day! Hmm, "She's got the biggest Parakeet's" I haven't heard that one, LOL. Reminded me of the tune "She's Got The Biggest Parakeet's In Town" .... which, btw, I need to learn ... Simply excellent! Chap

Hi Partner, I'm going with my GUTS, and the advice I should of listened to in the first place hey. My JPF friends advice! I sent you a PM, and thanks for replying for me, I'm pretty well exhausted, been working way to hard, and my injuries are suffering because of it. I'll be back later, I'm still tired. Hugs Michele HiDee Mz Michele!

I LOVE this song! This song is great...and I've followed it from the first version. Good luck with it, and I'll see what I can do to spread the word around here. GOOD LUCK!! My song is still stuck in red tape (I.E. I don't want to send it anywhere yet to get a demo done, concentrating on my new tunes these days.)

Hi Justin Thanks for your support, we really appreciate it. I absolutely love this song too, but we still have a lot more work to do on it, we aren't happy with it. Next week Rodney is gonna take it up in key a touch, as the verses are still coming across to flat for our liking, so it's back to the drawing board, and we are on a big search for a Cockatoo impersonator hey. So please come back and have another listen when we finish this song hah! Checked out your myspace, I'll add you tomorrow as a friend, OK! Off to bed, I need lots of sleep. Hugs Michele

If the cockatoo in the song is anything like this one, you have one talented bird there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7IZmRnAo6s

Michele , I apologize.... the idea I gave you for a slightly tweaked first Chorus would've had the word "you" at the end of lines 1, 3, and 4. It probably would be better to have another word at the end of line 3 that rhymes with "you" but not another "you"! My mistake. In other words you have: 1st (CHORUS) Cuz I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU I DROVE OFF With YOUR COCKATOO This BIRD OF YOURS Knows WHAT-TO-DO NOW I'M OVER IT/I'M OVER YOU Maybe: Cuz I'm over it, I'm over you I drove off with your Cockatoo This bird and I we're done we're through/Your bird and me we're done, we're through I'm over it, Im over you Sorry, came back for another listen and realized my error thankfully. Again this is only a suggestion to keep or sweep it's just that your original 3rd line of the bird knowing what to do didn't sit right so I thought this might be an option and still keep your rhyme scheme consistent. Enjoyed again, Lynn

That video is too much. That bird doesnt' miss a beat, adorable. What good exercise for our feathered friend. Here he is doing another song, so funny so cute BUT watch it to the end because he does stop dancing when the music stops and takes a bow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJOZp2ZftCw

Hi Lynn No need to apologize, thanks for your advice, I will show Rodney when I meet up with him next week, and see how it flows. Big thanks for listening again, I've been going around the house practicing singing it up a notch, Oh Golly gosh! Hi Justin Thanks, I found Snowball a while back, he's one clever Cockatoo hah, he would be an ideal star for the film clip for this song hey. I absolutely couldn't stop laughing, and my kids too when we watched all the video's of Snowball. Hugs Michele

Hi Jean, How are you? Thanks for listening, I love the Kangaroo references in this song too. Where I'm living at present, I sit out the back with a cuppa and watch all the Kangaroo's, Cockatoo's, so many different birds, cause I feed them, I love it, very relaxing. Pleased you like it! Hugs Michele Very fun! I especially like the Kangaroo references.
