You Talkin' To Me
Come here girl sit down by me Wanna talk to you, a minute or two Watchin’ you walk by, I like what I see Stick with me, I’ll make all your dreams come true
I looked back to see who was a talkin’ All I see is some ole’ funky hair dude I heard a voice say yeah, gal keep on walkin’ You’re not all that fly, besides...........
With this here dollar, I can buy ten like you.....
1st chours I stopped in my tracks, turned around to see This ole gray gentleman about four foot three Lookin’ him straight in the eye, didn’t break a smile Said excuse me sir, You talkin’ to me
He said I’m lookin’ for talent, not seen none today The way you walk, thought you possibly could be Now that I hear you speak, you best be on your way Like I say I’m lookin’ for talent ,that’s something you need
Since I was towering over this tiny little coot Got in his face, I’ve got more talent in this little finger Than you could ever have from your head to your fakeskin boots One day soon I’m gonna be a famous Country Singer
2nd chours If you’re a country singer, I drive race cars He laughed, spit to the ground, said this I gotta see Girl if you can hold a tune, I’ll make you a star I said excuse me sir You talkin’ to me
I pulled out my guitar started singing a song that I wrote for my grandma when she was alive about loving and living and the sins of the world . He stood there never blinkin’ an eye and when I got through He shook his head and said man alive…girl you’re the best country singer I believe I’ve ever heard
I stopped in my tracks, turned around to see This ole gray gentleman about four foot three Lookin’ him straight in the eye, didn’t break a smile
Said excuse me sir You talking to me
Yeah excuse me sir, You talking to me…..

Lordy, what a way to start the morning!
....ole’ funky hair dude ....ole gray gentleman about four foot three ....tiny little coot
Those descriptions sound sort of like me.
This is sort of a "funky" lyric, meaning wacky but cool, but I would have them get married and live happily though at odds ever after.
I like knowing where songs come from. Was this total fiction, partly true, or what?

I honestly found this one a bit difficult to follow at first, but once I read the ending found it to be a perfect tale of someone being able to prove one wrong. Sort of a cinderella story but which obviously has happened. One that comes to mind here is the one about nightclub owner Lib Hatcher who promised to make Randy Travis a star. I believe he was a cook at the club at the time. Not only did she make him a star but made him her partner as well although he was several years her junior.
Peace, Brian

"We are all millionaires, billionaires even, because right now we have today. And today is worth more than all the wealth we can imagine. So spend today wisely. Spend tomorrow wisely. Enjoy the wealth of today, and realize it is worth far more than all the money and possessions of tomorrow and beyond." -Brian Austin Whitney
