Hello, Jan:
I enjoy Pavarotti also... but I am listening to a new Bossa Nova tune Heather Cowles just completed (vocal) for me. She is a fantastic JPF vocalist in Nashville and recently ran a special on vocal demos. I'm so glad I took advantage of her generous offer.
Is that your art? Nice technique.
Regards,
Dave Rice

I am watching/listening to musiac on youtube. 1) Pyramid by Charice featuring Iyaz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGPG91x5eMYMy friend Drew Ryan Scott wrote the song with David Jassy and Lyrica Anderson, produced by TWIN. It seems to be doing pretty well. Charice is best known for singing NOTE TO GOD on Oprah's show. 2) "Baby" (cover of Justin Bieber's single) by Varsity Fanclub. My friends did a cover of Justin Bieber's song and made it into a music video. It's quite entertaining to watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI3t3CQAZsoI am gonna go watch/listen to some other stuff.....Ciao

Bill, I have a cat named Needlenose. She is old and snores. She sleeps in a shoe box. I have to buy new shoes every time she tears up a shoe box.

Right this minute, I am listening to my Jacuzzi filling up. Lately I've been listening to a country mix on my iPod which includes "Green" by Blake Shelton, "Crazy Town" by Jason Aldean", "Easy From Now On" by Miranda Lambert, "The Pants" by Brad Paisley, and "It Ain't About Easy" by Montgomery Gentry, among others. Also, a funk playlist which includes "The Pinocchio Theory" by Bootsy Collins, "Backstrokin'" by the Fatback Band,"Back In Love Again" by L.T.D., "Do Fries Go With That Shake" by George Clinton, and "You Give Me Something" by Jamiroquai, among other songs in that genre. And...the cd "The Devil You Know" by the band Heaven & Hell.

Dan O'Connell has several threads going about what is our favorite song on each of the JPF writers he has listed so I'm listening to alot of different and really great music right now. Also listening to Halie Loren since Ande had bought her to mind again. Got done alot of chores this weekend as I wanted to devote an evening to pure music and music related items. Just gave final edit to a duet I'm working on so I'm listening to the sound of my own voice trying to hash out how this duet might sound. It's been a very musical night and I've enjoyed every minute. Oh that they all can't be nites like tonite!! Best, Lynn

Well, I was just about to put in CAUGHT IN THE WEBB, A Tribute Album of Webb Pierce Songs.
I just read on a Web Site that Willie Nelson is coming out with some new music. Of note is SMOKE, SMOKE, SMOKE THAT CIGARETTE, a song by Tex Williams sometime in the 40's. Also MORE AND MORE, a big hit by none other than Webb Pierce. Good music lasts and lasts.

Al Jolson "Anniversary Song"
Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed We vowed our true love, though a word wasn't said The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies Except for the few that were there in your eyes
Dear, as I held you close in my arms Angels were singing a hymn to your charms Two hearts gently beating, murmuring low "Darling, I love you so"
The night seemed to fade into blossoming dawn The sun shone anew but the dance lingered on Could we but recall that sweet moment sublime We'd find that our love is unaltered by time
Dear, as I held you close in my arms Angels were singing a hymn to your charms Two hearts gently beating, murmuring low "Darling, I love you so"

I've been a Michael Buble fan since the first time I heard "Everything". Interestingly, the female in the video you posted is now his wife and they met on the video shoot.

A whole bunch of early Bill Withers hits. Great song writing, and what a voice. Learning some tunes and trying to get some of that bluesy thing he has into my stuff. Songs I've been studying:
Ain't no sunshine (of course) Grandma's hands Use me Who is he (and what is he to you) Everybody's Talkin (originally buy Nielsen I think) I Don't Want You On My Mind

Oh my goodness Kevin, is that true? Well that's really special!! A chance video encounter, Cupid must've been hiding behind the frozen TV dinners I thought he was engaged at one time to David Foster's daughter, is that David Foster's daughter then??? She's beautiful!

The Avett Brothers if you haven't heard them check them out. Not too big on their latest release myself, but their older stuff is really amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-dQKIOOUIcThe Avett Brothers Please Pardon Yourself As I turn my head to your side of the bed While you wake, What's on your mind? To this awful news try not to hold on The day will come, the sun will rise, and we'll be fine As long as I feel, as strong as I feel I will carry you as long as I can As hard on yourself, please pardon yourself Do the best you can and that won't go unseen How do I know when it's time to stop? Runnin' from the things I do, being things I'm not Oh I have tried, but I just changed my mind Every night befalls every morning light How do I know that you will never stop? Knowin' me, and trustin' me, and lovin' me a lot Oh I have tried, but I just changed my mind Every night befalls every morning light Well there's only so many ways You can give your loving to me I'd give my soul for just for one of them now I'd give up the drinking, just tell me how And there's only so many years I'm going to give my love to you And I spent the last one hidden away Screaming my lungs out with nothing to say As I turn my head to your side of the bed While you wake, What's on your mind? To this awful news try not to hold on The day will come, the sun will rise, and we'll be fine

Oops, according to Wikipedia, I gave out some wrong information:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Bubl%C3%A9
"Bublé became engaged in Argentina[93] to girlfriend Luisana Lopilato in November 2009. She is an Argentine actress, model and singer.[93][94] Bublé co-wrote the hit single "Haven't Met You Yet" for Lopilato,[95] and she appeared in the song's music video.[93] They reportedly met in November 2008 at a party thrown by Bublé's record company after one of his concerts in Buenos Aires.[93] Lopilato was previously engaged to actor Mariano Martínez and tennis pro Juan Mónaco.[94]"
I remember seeing a feature on TV about them meeting on the video shoot, so either the program or Wikipedia is mistaken.

No problem Kevin. We got this all cleared up now. The girl in the video is his fiancee' but they met previously at a party. I read his Wikipedia and it had me glued. If I can trust Wikipedia it is interesting to note how some of these artists have a slow start as good as they are until they get their breakthrough. Looks like a pivotal moment came when he sang at a wedding attended by David Foster whose gift beyond songwriting itself, is seeing talent and bringing it to the spotlight. David and Michael..now there's a team!!
