Hi all! I'm Polly Hager, one of Brian Austin Whitney's "Helping Hands", and he's asked me to get feedback from the larger JPF chapter coordinators as part of an effort to get more chapters established both Nationally and Globally.
Please let me know how you're running your chapter, how it's doing, what has worked, what has not worked, what you'd like to see change or add/subtract from the current guidelines. Please either respond here or pm me. Thanks, appreciate the feedback!

I'm not a co-ordinator, but I have to tell you that we are a "family" as a group. There's not one person I've met through JPF here in the Tampa Bay area that isn't wonderful! And some are even more than that!

AL Alvarez and I currently share coordinator duties which works very well. Al is a salesman/promoter by trade so he has the necessary skills to handle those apsects of the chapter. We both send out e-mails and make phone calls when necessary to get people out to the showcases, which are currently every three months on a Sunday afternoon. We also post them here on the boards. At the showcases we reserve the first hour for networking and then have a guest speaker when we can find one available. One of the things that was very successful was the backing band,Horse Feather's for the chapter showcases. Horse Feather's would rehearse,a minmum of twice, with a songwriter that wanted a full band backing him/her,then perform at the showcase. Another thing that you might want to consider is the venue where you have a showcase. Food & booze are a must! Our biggest enemies here are football season and the holidays. The Tampa Bay area is very sports oriented so finding a venue on a Sunday afternoon during football season is next to impossible. TV's run rampant in the bars here! Some of the members perform in bands together and support those that play out often. We also supply a full back line at the showcases. The place where we are currently having the showcases has an in house PA so that saves some of the set up work load. The Tampa Bay Chapter also has its own Myspace page where music is played by different musicians every month. Ms.Goody runs an internet radio show that promotes and plays Jpfer's songs as well as other's from around the country. Rick Crandall runs an internet radio station that plays Tampa Bay musician's as well. Feel free to pm me or post here if you have any more questions etc. I know who you are as I read your posts quite often. I also enjoy your original music. Thanks!

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
