Lately I have been feelin these

Hi Shirl
You are not asking for a critique on this so I hope I am not out of line. If it is a completed song and you do not plan on reworking it then disregard my comments.
This is not my Genre but music is music and I appreciate it all.

From what I know of R&B/Soul the lyric works. It has some good descriptive lines in the song.
It also has a good message.

I had a hard time listening to it. The vocal is buried in the mix. Without the lyric in front of me I would not have been able to follow the song. But, I am not sure how important that is in this Genre.
I also had a sense the singer was trying to fit the lyric to the music Meter wise. It seemed awkward. Again that might be a genre thing but it did make it difficult to follow.
I did like what the song had to say.

All just a Country boys opinion of course.

As for the second song I think the production/mix had a problem. The vocal was overpowered by what I think was the keyboard. It seemed like they were both on the same frequency and the vocal was being smothered. I hope I explained that right. A good engineer/producer would explain it better.

On second listen it seemed like the Bass was in there as well covering the lyric.. I also don't hear much separation. Left/right. Everything sounds like it's in the middle. That might be what I'm hearing.

There are kinds of variables to consider:''Both Lyrics were
done -unedited soooo Dodd took an Hell of a chance..to
even attempt to sing this song..[which I 'm glad he did]
Yes..The Production, is in question..no doubt..
The moon watches over me..although it has some good lines..
..'''Dodd vocals might have struggle as you said to keep
up with the meter..I agree..


**** I Think Basically''Bill is What Dodd and I want to do is
Find his own signature he has a rich;;Baritone voice..
WE have to find Lyrics that his vocals can ''be smoother
more relax...''not forced..;;etc,,..and it;s not an easy task..
