Stevie did the music and vocals on this for me and Roy and Iove it, hope you all like it too..thanks glyn and roy Thank you stevie so much...I love it..glyn New mix from Stevie 2/17/10...thanks so much Stevie http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8738898Wondering As I Cry As I drive this lonely road The scenery’s passing me by Old gas pumps, on pot holed streets Of ghost towns left to die. Was our life much simpler then? Or do my thoughts tell lies. All the folk have up and gone, And their memories have slowly died. chorus Wondering about it makes me cry How quickly our time has passed Even with three score or more The years have gone so fast. Lives we’ve lived and those we knew End up as dirt in a hole, I wonder how many at the end Had reached their dreams and goals. Hi folks,
I've got to post a disclaimer. My software screwed up on me before I could do a good master so this is an earlier rough cut I did before it messed up. So...there are plenty of mistakes on this version till I can do a better one.

Hi Glynda, Roy, and Stevie!
I love the lyric and the musical composition.
I think if you picked up the tempo several BPMs and redid the lead guitar, which sounds flat to me, you'd have a really nice demo of a great song!

Mike Thanks Mike. As I explained above I was in the rough worktape stage when my recording software went nuts on me. I won't bother you with the details but it made it impossible to go any further. The lead fills are a sore spot as are the backing vocals. I may look into speeding it up a couple bpm to see how it sounds as well. Thanks for the suggestions. This was a gift to Glynda so I went on and released it as is. Again thanks for the listen and taking time to make your suggestions which are right on spot. Steve

"All these years I’ve worked to the bone To end up one day with my name on a stone." That's some great lines! Great bridge too. I love the English style here and your great voice. If The Kinks had made this in the seventies, it would have been one of their hits. It still could be with a little twist(-: Great collab indeed.

I like it. The lyric is kind of a downer - in the "life's a bitch then you die" vein. It it well written though... But the music perks it up a bit - and makes it feel like the singer is being more philosophical than disappointed with his life. So overall, it didn't make me sad but encouraged me to do fun things and be happy - and that's a good thing Nice work you three... Scott

Guys...
Nice work here...you have a fitting melody and good lyrics. I'm sure when the kinks get worked out of the software she will pull into shape nicely.

Powerful, picturesque lyrics, liked the way it compares miles passing by on the road to time passing by in life.
If I might suggest taking up the chorus melody so that it differentiates from the verses more? Also maybe a musical pause before going right into the bridge.
Best Regards and Aloha,
Charlie

another favorite of mine if Cowboy Down, cowritten by gus, and stevie did the production...well what can I say about Cowboy Down, gus did so great on that one. well it's my heart...

Hi Glynda and Company
I really like the musical melody line on the chorus.
The 3 scores -- feels out of place or less conversational than I'd like to hear in this... I like the same line that Ken mentioned a lot.
good working demo ! jm

Hi Joice and thanks so much for stopping by.
Glad you more or less enjoyed our collab.
Just thought I would give a quick mention on the line you mentioned.
I felt that as the singer is reminising on the passing of his time on earth that the line was interesting because its one of the lines I remember from the bible. I believe it was 3 score and ten (70) that was mentioned as the avaerage lifespan of man on earth. Or words to that effect. So it was a referance to that.
-King James Bible ------------------------------ The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. ----------------------------------------------- I hoped that it worked for most people. ------------------------------- Even with three score or more The years have gone so fast. -------------------------------
Anyway thanks for having a listen.. comments always aprreciated...
God Bless Roy

HiDee Mz Glyn & Bros Roy & Stevie!
A CLASSIC ya got here..(tho, yeah, needs a Guitar-Fix here-&-there for the Final Version)...but What a Nice Job, you three!
The sadness of the Lyrics SOARS in a Positive-Way when that Great Guitar-&-Vocal Production connects. This is one ya can be Proud Of, Folks! CONGRATS!
Best Wishes & Big Hugs, Stan

Stan I want to thank you for your wonderful comments on this song, while I was driving to and from work (most hospitals are 1 to 3 hours from my house) I stared seeing old falling down houses, barns, small towns that had moved closer the the city leaving abandoned buildings etc, and I wondered did all these people get what they were looking for, where they happy..and to think all I do is work, go home, and work again...and I cried...so this song came to me..and Roy saw it and wanted to see what he could bring to it...and he did bring some great lines and helped bring it all together, then Stevie (I think with Gus's help, Gus is a sweetheart too, )anyway Stevie took it over the top, I love this song...what can I say, I am truly blessed to be here and have Roy, Stevie, Gus, and many others doing these great songs with me...each song really amazes me, how they started out as just a little thought, then before I know it, here is the results of what teamwork can do. Ok i'm through now..but really isn't it just great, Stevie also produced another song that Gus(mostly Gus) and I co-wrote together, Cowboy Down....and it's another gift from Stevie to me..man, he truly is a man after my own heart..this again is a result of what friends do for each other.....love you guys...glyn

The next line, "Till I reach the end of the line" was either Glyn or Roy, not sure which.
