Hi Jake:
I don't want you to think we are a bunch of non-responsive so-and-so's... and I did listen. You've got the musical chops to go far. I suspect you'll get more responses from the JPF "Family" by participating more in the day-to-day activities that go on here. Let us get to know you... and you should take the time to know us. Ya' never know... someone with your ticket to stardom might be lurking here... LOL! Thanks for sharing and welcome to JPF.

I loved the music, but the vox were a bit muddy, and needed to be more up front. It was hard to tell what the lyric was. You might want to post this in the MP3 Forum (and type out the lyric so people can read along while they listen). That's where most people put their tunes.

Ok, The vocal is buried under ,A Pile of Rubble? You may want to bring the Vocal up above the music. Can't give any critique on what you have posted.

Sounds like all your songs are very much in the Skynyrd/ZZ Top, guitar boogie vein. All of the vocals are buried so far back in the track it is difficult to give any kind of assessment of the song. Am sure it works well in a bar on Saturday night. Might either think of a remix, keep in thought of new recordings, and adding the lyrics so people can read along, like Polly the Hottie says. Probably heavily in all three.

Hi Jake And welcome to JPF. Follow Hottie Polly's advice and post this over in the Mp3 forum. You'll get some good responses there.
I'm with the rest of the gang. The vocals are buried way back in the mix. I was able to pick out the lyric but I'm listening through a $1400.00 set of monitors. Most folks won't be listening through anything better than desktop computer speakers so they probably won't hear the vocal at all. It sounded good so I'd recommend a remix or if it is already mixed see if you can bring the vocal up with EQ.

The 'buried' issue was the main one I perceived too.
A lyric is a communication. You send it, but to qualify as a communication it has to be received. Words have 'hook factor,' hooking the listeners' interest in the storyline, the emotion of the singer, the melodic qualities of the voice.
Get the words out where they can do their job.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Thanx for the replies y'all>> Maybe the lyric prob is on the space page>> even on my crappy cd player the vocals are loud enough to be heard>> They were right there when we mixed it down but that was an incredible set of speakers >> If you get to an AMI jukebox give that a try>> all bar systems work differently > I don't get much from they plays but I could use the exposure > and thanx for the kind words >> The Jake Blake Project is Drinkin' Music You Can Believe In<>
