I'm showing off my youngest here. This is my daughter Lucy, 13, covering Meaghan Smith's "I Know". Big sister Madeline, 15, plays the violins. Our household is all fun and games. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8590877

Wow Mark.
A chip off the old block.
Very beautiful voice. I am a stickler for diction and she has perfect diction.
I heard every syllable of every word.
You must be very proud of the both.
God Bless Roy

Great family you have there. I don't know this song, but it was a very enjoyable listen this early Sunday morning. Good singing and violin playing. Good job on the rest of the band!

Hi Mark & Lucy,
Very cool, on everyone's part. What a wonderful beginning! Most important though, who is the great whistler?

You and your family should be very proud.
Please tell your daughter to keep it up and that she, and her sister, have the talent.
I could not find any 'nits' to speak of. Everything flowed smoothly.

Wow - lot's of cool stuff here, Mark. The coolest, of course, is Lucy's and Madeline's performances. Very nice! Also a great song. I just assumed it was from back in the 40's or 50's and was amazed to find it is current. Great that they still write 'em like this and impressive that your daughters liked it enough to record it. It's wonderful that you can share this activity with your family. By the way, anyone could pick Lucy out of a line-up as being your daughter. Scott

Ricki Haha, that was me...and I hate whistling. I wasn't going to do it because it always reminds me of Andy Griffith, but what the heck, it turned out OK. Thanks!

HiDee Mark & Family!
VERY Enjoyable to listen-to, Amigo! Lucy's got Great Pipes/"Hats-Off" to The Band! I especially-enjoyed your Whistlin', Mark...('cuz that's the ONLY "Instrument" I can handle!)
Lucy, ya sounded real Grown-Up, covering what I'm guessin's a 1930's Jazz Tune! Mady's Violin sounded Very Good (& I can ALWAYS hear a Bad One..heh!)..This Sure Beat MY Family's little Romps-Around-The-Piano in My Younger-Days!
CONGRATS to The Whole Family, Mark! Best Wishes, Take a BOW, Gang, & Big Hugs to the Whole Bunch! Stan

Hi Lucy, You look so much like your Dad (that's a compliment). So glad you are interested in good music and keep at it. Singing is healthy for the heart and soul. Your father is a very talented man (don't tell him I said that, it'll be our little secret). Very nice vocals and ineresting song. Hope to hear more from you. Best, Lynn

Seriously, I am proud...I mean, I'd be proud even if they sucked...but knowing they really are good at this and entertaining to listen to just makes me beam. And Meaghan Smith is a marvelous writer. I love that she has embraced older genres and gets airplay on alternative pop stations...sure gives me hope! Check this one out...another one written by her: Meaghan Smith - "If You Asked Me"

Glad I checked this out! Clever lyrics and video. She is "different" in a very good way. I notice at present she has 12,455 views, I'm expecting that number to climb if people catch on to her and like to tune into good music. Don't know what to call this maybe jazz/swing but whatever it's really good and I enjoyed the whole package. I don't think I've ever seen that hairdo anywhere! I'm going to go look for the lyrics and post them here if I find them, they sounded delicious. !!

Here they are.....(lots of rhymes yum yum) Lyrics: Well I know that I should know better Than to sit here by the phone waiting like a fool And my mailbox never got those letters That you promised would be coming my way soon Well it’s a strange concept With all the tears I’ve wept That I would still accept If you asked me Well you show up when you want romancing And I’m the perfect one to play the part And I might be in your arms dancing But I’m not the only one inside your heart I know you’re not all mine Cause I see your wandering eyes Still I would not decline if you asked me Everybody sees that love has made me blind And everybody knows that I have lost my mind And it may be true my heart may be askew This love may be a ruse I got everything to lose But how can I refuse if you asked me Well my love I can’t repress So boy I must confess What I wish you would request And I aint gonna make you guess So put me out of my distress With or without you I’m a mess And boy I would say yes If you asked me

Mark,
That was wonderful! I love the genre and Lucy just kicks in the butt! She has a lilting, very warm voice. It was like listening to satin brush against silk...smooth & comfy!
because of time allotment, I've had to choose between commenting on the other forums or listening to others and commenting on their music. I've been reading the other forums for the past couple of weeks...catching up over there. But, I had a few extra minutes and clicked onto this one. what a treat!
Wear that "Daddy Pride" with a big smile! There's no other feeling like it. They both did a wonderful job. The violin was the catalyst that brought the b/g tracks together so nicely.
Great song, great performance, great joy for us listeners!
Alan
