green grasses fragrant flowers the lazy haze dispenses--this line may sound a bit too poetic, and hard to sing...perhaps you may want to consider something other than this line...jmho sprinkling showers Don't we all long for summer? I know I do. This has a really pleasant sound to it, and good lyrics. Nice job Calvin and Joice. Kim

I thought it sounded different than the lyrics in that part, but then thought my ears were playing tricks, as they often do.:) Kim

Yes feeling this, longing for sunny summer, very timely, summer songs almost always have that feel good factor, this one has a little of that plus a little sadness of the wish it was here variety which works very well, like it,
Tony.

Hi JM & Calvin,
Cool song, I mean, HOT song! Love the bridge. I'll take the the first flight sneak like the dawn a migrant traveler hiding somewhere warm
I'd like to be hiding somewhere warm right about now. It's 10 degrees this am! The minor key makes it all the more wistful. Calvin's understated background vocals are a nice, subtle touch.
My only nit is the pause before repeating "Summer's gone" in the chorus. I wasn't expecting that delay. Just a thought.
Ricki

Hi Calvin and Joice:
This is a nicely written lyric and a really, really sweet melody. Has a great wistful feel to it.
No nits - although something I'm curious about. The lines where you repeat
Summer's gone Summer's gone.
I think you are playing Dm Am for both lines?
I wonder about Dm Am for the first and F E for the second - keeping the exact same melody?
Not necessary of course and you might not even like it. Just puts a little different spin on it.....
Very nice!
Scott

Hi Joice/Calvin sounds ok to me. Might want to think about changing the title to summers gone. I relate to summers gone a lot more then sunny summer. Sounds like a name to me (sunny summer) My daughters first name by the way. (sunny)good luck with the song.

Hey guys, sweet tune and vocal, all the more poignant looking out the window at the 12 inches of fresh snow after the 26 inches last week. I really like the vibe and flow of the song. The only suggestion I have is to possibly tone down the percussion a little, I found it distracted me from the rest of the song. Just me, I'm always trying to turn the drummer down. heh heh

Hi Ricki
I'm hoping that all this chanting might have some effect and bring the warm days back sooner --- I can see why the ancients became sun worshipers.....
Glad you like it -- I'll think some more on the pause there..... I've been doing some of that sort of thing with purpose lately for a variation.
Thanks for your feedback - jm

Hi Scott
I can understand your preference -- I was on the fence as I posted the lyric about the title. But the inspiration was Sunny Summer -so I kept it there --- I think they are both strong hooks and we decided on the less common choice. Thanks for you thoughts and for listening and sharing your talents. jm

Hi Alador
Thanks for coming bay and commenting -- i can tone the drum track down a bit when I go back in - I appreciate the comment. Maybe I'll get it done with real drums down the road sometime. ; )
cheers jm

Joice/Calvin,
Very nice tight lyric and I liked Calvin's background vocal coming in there. Joice, I like the choice to use a minor sounding melody on this. It does make it more whistful. I think the percussion does detract from it a bit. I could hear maybe a guitar/vocal paired with Calvin's background part and a wind chime or something to emulate the summer wind, perhaps. Just some ideas.
