Joanne Lurgio's new album, "Nothing Remains the Same" is now out on CDBaby. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lurgio2Her singing and her songs are as good as any I've heard. I think she's a major talent. Honest, uncompromising, yet tender and at times showing a tough vulnerability, her tunes are at once personal and universal. It was an honor to work on this project. The production is holistic, the approach was more "band" than "studio," having more in common with the 70's recordings of Linda Ronstadt and Emmy Lou Harris than the more packaged and processed sounds of modern pop music. "Nothing Remains the Same" is not a "Nashville" album, but rather utilizes a team of Nashville studio players who know and enjoy each other and work together as a band. The focus of the entire project is Joanne Lurgio. Her songs, singing and guitar work, honed and polished in the venues of New England, have brought her to be voted "Best Singer and Songwriter of 2007" by Motif Magazine www.motifmagazine.net Joanne has a distinct Americana feel with New England charm. I had the pleasure of hearing Joanne perform a few of these songs when she stayed at my house last year.
Joanne is a major talent and I think we should be hearing her songs on radio.
Mike you and the guys did a great job on this album. You should be proud.

Joanne, I'll order a copy, and give it a published review ( for what it's worth ) Don't know about that Dunbar character however, but I 'spose I could give him a mention.  It's real nice when someone puts out an album, and you just know it's just going to work. It won't be "pefect", but it will be a damn nice listen. cheers, niteshift

I've been saying for several years that Joanne deserves a lot of recognition from the industry, as well as fans. She **IS** a great talent and a very, very sweet lady. I listen to her first CD quite often, as well as Bill Robinson's. They're both a great listen!
My favorite song by Joanne is "Walking On Sacred Ground". Joanne, you're super, girl! I am delighted for you! All the best with this! Merry Chrsitmas!

I'm tickled to read all the nice things you folks say about Joanne. I know I'm not alone in thinking she is a serious talent and could make quite a ripple in the music pool.
Niteshift, a published review would be greatly appreciated.
We'll be submitting for reviews all over the place soon, and will be looking for magazines, sites and forums that do reviews on singer/songwriters, so any info on this would really help.
Joanne needs more "street teamers." So anyone who goes on other music forums that mentions her with links to her CDBaby site and her website would be greatly appreciated. Also, once you folks start listening to her cd, it would be a very good thing to write a review on CDBaby (do ya read me BC?)
Joanne Lurgio has been a loyal JPF member for a long time, she is a serious talent and deserves recoginition. Thanks to all here for showing some.

wow! What a wonderful response!! Thank you everybody! I have a lot of work to do to start getting the music out... writing and recording is the easy part in comparison! So now, all i need is some 'time' .. lol .. Hopefully will start the push after the holidays : ) Thanks for all your support ..
