Hi Folks,
Just for the fun of it I thought we could have our own film nominees and winners. Anyone else interested?

Brian, are you talking about films created by JPF members or films in general?

i agree with you, we should and i think AVATAR should definitely be a nominee
it doesn't matter what you are, it's who you are that counts.

I think films in general.. just for fun... awards for so long have been about making money FROM THE AWARDS... instead of just doing them to recognize really cool stuff!
So let's hear some of your favorites from this year. Perhaps we should have some categories like the obvious:
Best Film Best Actor Best Actress Best Supporting Actor Best Supporting Actress Best Director Best Screenplay (Original) Best Screenplay (Adapted) Best Visual Effects Best Audio Best Cinematography Best Soundtrack Best Song used during film (and none of this during the credits after the film is over crap... it should have to be part of the actual movie).
Thoughts?

This sounds like fun. I know my pick for "Best Movie", but I need to ponder the other catagories. I'll be back.

I need some help making my final choices voting for the S A G awards folks....come on, I'm listening for your opinions on the actors!!
I recently watched Precious and Up In The Air. Both were phenomenal. Precious was disturbing and really well done, but I'm not sure the writing will let it take the top spot. Monique and Mariah were crazy good. Such unexpected performances....really raw.
Clooney was great as ususal...but I'm not sure it's an emotionally epic enough role for the big awards. It's a really subtle performance.
What'd you all think?

I thought Up in the Air was a waste of time and left me feeling flat...I guess the acting was OK, but at the end of the day ? Didn't do a thing for me

OK, I'll bite, tho we've only seen 2 Movies in all of 2010, but here goes a few Nominations:
Best (Mostly-Animated) Movie: "Avatar" Best Visual Effects: "Avatar" Best Movie Musical: "Nine" Best Song: "Be Italian", sung by Fergie..in "Nine". (You'll hum it for DAYS...What a Hooky-Li'l Number/What a PERFORMANCE, too!)
So Far, That's All, Folks! Best Wishes/Fine Idea, Bro Brian! Big Guy-Hug, Stan

I don't go to the movies that often and haven't seen any in 2010 yet. I get several tickets as Christmas gifts and wait till something really good comes along and then I go. So for right now I'll serve the popcorn (buttered, no trans, barbequed you name it). Me I'll be eating the Raisinets, hey it's fruit!!
