Appreciate any suggestions.
I think you should use a click track and sing the chorus one more time. Just kidding I like it alot - my uncle put up a tire swing for my brother and I so this resonated somewhat. Not perfectly, because no girls my age lived near him. But I can imagine Pretty melody too. I think we can say it, now that you're banging out a song every couple of days or so - Louis is back! Scott

This is a different style for you, I believe. If it just has a different feel about it. And I think it is great (not that your other stuff is good, too -- LOL!).
Very well done. I would see if you could up the production on this one. It could be a hit for any of today's country artists.

Thanks Barry, that was my favorite part to Scott, yeah I'm back, really should quit though, lol... I didn't have any girls that lived close either, but I was always hopeful

Hi Louis,
According to Marc, this is the kind of lyric that they're going for in Nashville, these days: songs about 'things' that hold memories, told in a conversational voice.
I like the single bar of 2/4 on "same place" in there, that's a first for you, and it works!
You are razor sharp right now, Louis. This is up there with your best work. It's beautiful and heartfelt and conversational, and something many folks can relate to...remembering their first love...
Mike

Hi Mike, really appreciate your words, now where's "Marc" when you need him, lol.. I should probably turn Sub and his gibson loose on this one. Think I'll stew over the lyrics a little too

Sweet.....your simple arrangements usually back up the less is more principle. In this case I would like to see a gradual build adding perhaps strings or a bit of harmonies. It is a tad short but great things come in small packages.

Simply lovely! I was a little miffed that you didn't post the lyrics but not having them caused me to listen more closely. Loved the lyrical rhymes and, of course, the sentiment behind it all. Your voice lends itself very well to songs of the heart.

Louis, Those nylon strings sound sweet indeed. Do you record that direct? Each string is so distinct. This is one charming song. Very well written and delivered.

Hi Tom, yeah it's recorded direct... I can't mic the guitar and get a decent sound, don't know why..

You've gotten a great response on this one and well deserved. It's a poignant melody and lyric. Nice job on the guitar and singing. I thought you might try putting the second verse first as it was rich in images. I was wondering what you'd do with the title and you didn't disappoint. Great job!

Louis,
Can I just say "Wow...that was fantastic!!!"? Anything else I can think to say would be insufficient. One of your very, very best.

Thanks Pete, the 1st verse has the memory line in it, so you know he's looking back, but I see how it might work either way.
Thanks Al. Now I get to try to top it, lol...
