Hey all- It's been awhile since I've been on here. BUSY! Right now I'm recording a 20-song project. I was going to use this song entitled "Masquerade," but it doesn't suit the project. I thought that I'd just post the link to see what you all think. Only the first song is mine. www.myspace.com/littletonmusicgroupMasquerade By Erisa Rei (Kopp) 2007 vs.1 Hideaway, hideaway Your existence is pretense You're not real with how you feel Turn away, turn away You've no need for me I am nothing 'cause you're everything Vs.2 Far away, far away You don't feed the need For reality...you're all formality Fade away, fade away You're just shades of gray On the canvas you've created Chorus: Masquerade What do you think you're doing? Disguising your pain You can't always run away Masquerade 'Til your mask becomes your prison Yet the only one you're fooling is yourself Verse 3: Go away, go away I hear your fear I am a great offense To your walled defense Runaway, runaway Your pain is too great For you to look inside To give up your pride You gotta' give up that pride Chorus: Masquerade What do you think you're doing? Disguising your pain You can't always run away Masquerade 'Til your mask becomes your prison Yet the only one you're fooling is yourself And no one else Bridge: Mask of anger Covers fear Mask of happy Hides your tears Mask of sorrow Shades resentment Mask of peaceful Is discontentment (x2) Chorus: Masquerade What do you think you're doing? Disguising your pain You can't always run away Masquerade 'Til your mask becomes your prison Yet the only one you're fooling is yourself And no one else And no one else

Very soulful singing, definitely would fit in the pop/diva category. Must be a pretty good project if this one couldn't find it way onto it!
Cool stuff,
Kevin

Well, I'm not really a pop/diva kind of singer. The songs that I'm doing don't have this sound or this message. I just wanted some input in case I try to pitch it.

Hi Erisa, I tried listening, but since Myspace has updated their listening stations, a dialup user like me cannot listen to the streams, because we cannot pause them, and have the stream accumulate, all we can do is listen to 5 seconds of music followed by ten seconds of pause, and when it's over you can't play the whole thing through in one piece! Many folks here have soundclick accounts, and will only listen to music through there, anyway. It's easy enough to set up. I certainly would love to hear your piece all the way through, it sounds pretty good, from what I could tell. Mike

Oh okay, thanks for letting me know. I have a soundclick account, but I don't have the song in hand to upload it there.

Great vocals. This song has geat potential. I was not keen on the mix though....not a fan of extreme panningand levels semmed allover the place. In places I thought my phones were playing up. I could see this bluesed up a bit with more of a live band sound.

It hasn't had a final mixing process, let alone mastering. But I'll listen into what you are saying. Thanks. Thank you Joice.

Hi Erisa,
Great vocals! Interesting lyrics, especially this:
I am a great offense To your walled defense
The production is very well done and sounds like it's ready to go.

Yeah! I really like this! Grwat voice. I would add just a very lsight amount of reverb to the vocal, if it were up to me. Your voice is wonderful but dampining it a very slight amount would really lift it and allow it to saturate the track without overloading it.
I, too, wasn't real enamored with the panning. But, all in all, this is a super song and cut. Loved it! You're an exceptional singer.

Hi Erisa Great too see ya here You sound FANTASTIC. Always thought so. I think this song song has GREAT potential, lots to like about it. Lots of very cool lines and melodies. Loved the mood of the verses and enjoyed the chorus especially. If there was one snag in it for me, it would definitely be how it goes into the chorus. Somethings just not clicking there. It's the only real weak spot. Don't know if it's the chord? or maybe the rhythm or the dynamic? Once the chorus goes it's cool also when it leaves the bridge it works. But when it first comes it has little impact. Needs a little tricky move there.. LOVE your vocal it just keeps getting better. Still wish you'd sing one of my songs Note: to Ricki, this is what i was saying about the kind of keys and groove your song needs..

Heck yeah, I'll sing for you. I have a better recorder now. Plus I also have these guys who would help me out now that have a professional studio. Just let me know.
Do you mean the first time into the Ch.? I personally don't like how I came in there vocally. I was a bit tentative. And I am wanting to re-do that whole first chorus vocally.

Cool... We'll do that!
And yes the first chorus. The rest go in nicely.
