Barry, that link is wrong. Can you just post the number that appears on top of the song on your SoundClick page? That way we'll be able to click on 'play hi-fi' directly.

What a beautiful song. I love it hands down. I do think having a female back up vocal would do this song some justice. Is there anywhere I can download this for my mp3 player?

What a nice tribute and memory of your friend. I don't know who sang this , but it was very professionally done and the music was very good. Excellent all around.

Naomi, I'd never thought of having a female singing on this one. That might be all right though.I'll send you an mp3 in an email.
Pete, I sent Art Holt a melody sample and he did the music using Band in a box, then we asked Danny Bloodworth to sing it for us. Danny has got some great pipes.
For me it was one of those that wrote itself in about an hour. So in one respect it was a very easy lyric to write, but then again it was very hard.
Thanks again for listening and commenting

Kim:) Kim, I never actualy met him in person. I met him through the internet at another forum. He took me under his wing like he did for a lot of us, and taught me how to structure a lyric. He always encouraged me to be better. I started writing in 06, and his was the first forum I went to. He passed away earlier this year.

This is simply beautiful, Barry. A deep honour for Mike. I love Danny's vocals. They're absolutely perfect for the song. The fact that he knew Mike as well makes the song all the more poignant. Donna

Thank you Donna, I hope Mike would have liked it. Your right, Danny has a great voice. This song doesn't even come close to testing his range. Danny did the mix on this as well in his home studio, 4 part harmonies and all. He's got real talent.

Hi Barry, great tribute, love that happy hallelujah chords line. Good singer too.

Hi Barry ......Neat production.....catchy chorus.....singer has awesome voice. What a wonderful tribute.....I just hope someone writes half as good a song for me when my time comes LOL. Only minor nit is the ending is a bit abrupt and fades too quick. Easy fix.

Hey Barry, that was sweet! Your friend was obviously very special. Not a big country fan but this one hits all the right notes for me. The words are well written imho and the singer has the old school country feel, as does the song. Really nice.
God bless, Todd

Barry,
I'll just get in line with everyone else and reiterate what a great song and production this is. Liked it a bunch. You did your friend justice with this. I'm sure he would be pleased.

Hi Barry,
Your friend must have been a happy, friendly guy, cuz that's the vibe your song is giving me...like he'd want everyone to be happy.
I don't know what "happy hallelujah chords" are, but I like the way it sounds, poetic without being intrusive...
Nice work all around, Mike

Thanks everyone, I think Mike would have liked the song. But more than that, I think he would have liked that a guy who carried a half baked poem into his forum awhile back thinking he had a song lyric, was able to write this because he took the time to teach him the difference. He was that kind of guy.

Hi Barry,
nothing much to add to the other posts except I liked the song too, especially the lyrics, the lead and the background vocals.
Best, yann

Good tune -- I guess he did a good job mentoring you!
Everything is well put together and vocals sound really good. (Slight "over-fiddling", but that's OK).
