Either-Or
Sunlight angled through her window
landing on top of her eyelids
silently saying morning has arrived
She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes
stumbled into the kitchen-half awake
plugging in the coffee pot, a new day
just like the day before
resting her head in her hands she
contemplated her complicated situation
all the time enjoying the fresh brew.
decisions and choices, what should she do?
Totally her own decision, should she ask
her friends? A strong, sturdy, reliable
foundation or a singing, fun-loving, high-
flying bird.
For there are no easy answers.
