The goal of our "Song Challenges" is to write songs/lyrics on demand within set parameters. We don't critique each other's songs in this thread (but you can say you like someone's song if you want to.) Please post your original works. If you have already written a song/lyric that fits within the parameters, please feel free to post it.
Here are the parameters: Use the phrase "Pay it no mind …" either as part of the chorus or a repeated line in the verses.

I Pay It No Mind
Verse 1
I was taught sticks and stones, were things that might hurt me,
Unkind words were things I should ignore,
My bones were never broken, but a tongue can burn like fire,
When too many feed it it will roar.
Chorus

Ah, a cynic,..eh? I was really torn when I realized it was ALL depressing--but that was the frame when I wrote. Had to be atleast a couple positive lines before pay it no mind, right? Thanks for the challenge.

OK. I took my own challenge and just finished it. Took about 3 hours. Countryish, I guess.
