Hi Folks,

Actuallly this is just a facelift on the message boards. The website itself is going to have a 100% change top to bottom hopefully within the next week or so. Adrian James is doing that. Adrian just made some adjustments to the message board. However you don't like the changes, you can switch back via your preferences. I think there's a couple things I want to tweak myself, but it's a start on the massive changes elsewhere.

Thanks to Adrian.

Please send me notes via private email as you find things that are problematic (like the gray text on the read background that is tough to read.

We should have a contest to see who can name the most people in the photo above.. I have to admit that even I can't name them all.. though I can name a large number and could probably track down many of those I don't know just by their genre of music.

For example.. can anyone pick out the hit songwriter/artist who's hit became the theme song in a long running situation comedy?

If you guys like this little change, wait until you see the new website.. it's amazing.

Wow! I just left for a few hours and when I came back I thought I'd broke something! It really pops out at you. Very cool. Hey, was that "Top" feature always there or is that a new addition? That's awesome! Can't wait to see what else she can do!!! So far, so good.

Really glad to hear the positive feedback - and I'm hitting the snags as quick as I can (not to mention the actual website).

Myself, I'm loving the new custom animated smileys. Hopefully an attention-grabbing appearance on the scene. It IS my first post.

Wow after thinking there was something wrong with my PC or my tired old eyes I finally came to terms with the changes. Very professional but some of the colours do seem a bit washed out and drab compared to the old bright blue and red. I do like the grey typeface however...neat less harsh.

"We should have a contest to see who can name the most people in the photo above I have to admit that even I can't name them"..

How's this for a try Brian smile

There's Billy and Donna and Nancy's beau Freddy,
Sharon and Debbie and Richard and Teddy,
Lois and Edward and Taylor and Gwen,
Marcus and Gary and Betty's best friend.
I see Linda and Leroy and Sarabeth too,
Jason and Peggy and Brian and Lou.
And there in the back I see Barbara and Ben,
Joseph and Paula, William and Glen.
And smiling so brightly is John and his wife,
Still flashin' that grin is my good ole' friend Mike.
Then busy as ever are Tracey and Nick,
I hear they're expecting and this will make six!
Way tucked in the corner is slippery ole' Paul,
He owes me some money, gonna' give him a call.
Who's that in the front row, it's Crystal and Jack,
I heard that they broke up, I guess they got back.
I see Erin and Tammy and could that be Jules,
Hey now I remember he borrowed my tools!
Elizabeth, Rachel and Bill's lookin' great,
I heard they called "Jenny" and all lost some weight.
There's Pauline and Steven I heard their engaged,
And Polly's fiancee' all on the same page.
No wonder their happy there's Robert and Trish,
They've finished that co-write, and written a hit!
There's Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Cupid,
Oops sorry mistaken they're reindeer, how stupid.
There's David and Heidi and Calvin and Kris,
There's Kaley and Bobbie, now who did I miss.
I confess that I'm guessin', I know not these names,
Just havin' some fun, do I win just the same??????

I had so much fun practicing the emoticons in the shout box, although it had been a while since I used them, and I was awfully rusty and made a lot of boo boos. Maybe we could have a legend over there by the shout box with all the emoticons so we oldtimers people can put our cursor on and see what we want to use lol.

Sorry about that :tree: emotion I tried to throw out there lol, it is a little known emotion, lol.

Hi Ben,

Nope. Alan didn't write that, (though I bet he wished he had). Sadly, the death of that TV shows star hit the news today. Weird I was just thinking about her when I made this post and the next day she's passed away.

I see that Adrian has made some changes and I think they've helped a lot already. I'm already getting used to it. I think shrinking the buttons back down helped a lot as well.

Adrian has done tons of work all as a volunteer. Adrian is really good at actually doing what you ask. So many folks just want to argue with you instead of trying to get you to do it their way instead. (And with me as stubborn as I am about things, that's usually not very successful). If anyone needs graphics work done, you should contact Adrian (but not until the website is up! hahahaha).

For those who are fans of Pop stars Evanescence, Adrian used to be the violin player in that band! Pretty cool eh?

Brian:

Great looking changes so far. May I suggest that you take a peek at a new, more elegant logo? (Maybe even turn that into a contest?) Nothing against the rather simplistic existing one, I just think maybe something in 3-D might spiff up the new look.

Congratulations. I'm looking forward to the other changes. I also agree that a darker "text" color would make reading easier... and black is the easiest.

Great job.

Usually I tend to the think the previous format was better, but this new look really beautified the site.

Got it Brian. "Thank You For Being A Friend". Did Alan write that? I know someone at JPF did.

Andrew Gold. He performed "Lonely Boy" and one of his nominated songs that year at the awards. You can see his blond bearded head peaking out near the back.

As for the logo. We've been using the red baseball hat for over 25 years. It will likely always be involved in some way going forward. another. Legal stuff prevents any changes at this time. But we're not planning on removing it completely any time soon.

The banner at top and new color theme is nice!
My only "nit" is that it's harder to read so many topic titles (all in red letters) on the forum topic (listing) pages. I think previously they were plain black and easier on the eye.

As the classic "Big Yellow Taxi" song says:
Don't it always seem to go
That you dont know what you've got till it's gone!

Otherwise, the rest is still with us, isn't it?! grin
Michael
P.S. I just discovered that I can select different "themes" in My Preferences, so that's a very nice feature, thanks!

Thanks, Linda Whitney... your version of the JPF Logo is exactly what I was thinking. It reaches out and grabs the eye of the beholder... and pulls them into the site for more. Great job. Although we have not been formally introduced, I am assuming there is a connection with Brian, the resident genius, somehow... LOL!

Hey Das Gift:

Forgive my lack of manners. Welcome to JPF. I hope you will continue to post here, long after your "task" has been completed. Your work makes me proud to be a Razorback... even though I now live in the middle of Longhorn Country. Nice job. Can't wait to see the finished product.
