Welcome!!! Yes you can improve we have a lot of room for improvement.
Where are you from Manila and how you learned this site?
By the way im Lynman Bacolor I Am the moderator in our Philippine Board.
Honestly this is the coollest and the most friendly music forum in the planet. Majority of the folks here are veteran in the music biz so respect them like how we respect our war veteran who help fought with Americans during world war 2. They are all willing to help you and give you tips and even criticize your work. My advice listen to them their writing skills is way way above your english skill.
REgarding your question if you can write music dont worry with the lyrics. You can write any words in your music especially if this song has a hit potential.
If you can speak other than tagalog like ilocano or bisaya this is much better because this is the song taht we are loooking in our future project.
If you have question in tagalog you can Private Message me. Just surf around. Goodluck

Welcome Wyeth. This is a fairly good website. Post in the lyrics and mp3 fora and you may get some help.
Be wary, though, there maybe some posers here who claim to be experts but really know very little. There is at least one pretend "songwriter" here. From those people, you'll learn zilch.

This is a forum not a website.
Be careful with what you post here because the way how you post your message seems your throwing harsh words to somebody or destroying ones reputation by giving this blind item thing.
Dont accussed folks here who pretends to be an expert.
This is a warning and if you dont stop I will sanitize your posting here in Philippines board.

post un-deleted
Umm.. I forgot what I said here before the moderator deleted. I think it's along the lines of having the decency not to delete posts which contain observations.
Anyway, Wyeth, english is easier for me.

Our esteemed board moderator, Please don't write complete sentences under my name. People here might think I'm weak in english grammar. And if you check my posts, I did not say anything about you and your endeavors. In fact, I never mentioned you. In fact, I don't care. DArius
You can destroy me and my company reputations in several websites and public fora but not here.
Im moderating this board so that guys like will not succeed in this kind of in your face smear campaign.

I'm with Darius on this one, obviously. Brian should take note that Mr Bacolor has a VERY BAD REPUTATION over at PhilMusic and SongWritersPh. He claims himself an "expert," yet he didn't even know what a DAW is.
On-Topic: It depends with each individual, Wyeth. Some writers write better in English, some, in Tagalog, and quite a few can write good songs in both.

What made you think I was "gone?" It's rhetorical, fyi. Hmmm where in any forum that I claimed that Im the "expert"? Here's one of MANY From SongwritersPh.net. Grammar unedited. http://www.songwritersph.net/forum/index.php?topic=37.msg413#msg413 Mercy
2 of my partner in our company learned music arranging in the university of hard knocks. But our expertise is on the final process of music production: final mixing and mastering.
Armed with a laptop a small mixer and 1 brand of earphone and we do our job in every coffee shops in metro manila.

And how about that "Basic Recording Setup" post of yours, or that ad selling an interface with a free DAW. Your posts would have been informative, if not for the FACT that you didn't even know what a DAW is, and that a BASIC recording setup is NOT as basic as you enumerated. And I replied "A recording setup for 6K (PhP, roughly $120US)? Hmmm. Is that why your "final" sounds like a demo?"The hardware alone, if one is to consider those generic PCs with slap on parts, already costs 10-15k (200 to 300 dollars US). Software costs from 100 dollars up (but then again, you're not really too discrete each time you drop that you're using pirated software), so there goes your basic seup. To think, just over at the other thread, you claim to reel in the bucks being a "professional" doctor and was paid a 7-figure fee for a jingle, and you can't even shell out some for good equipment? Please, Lynman. Being the moderator here, you're representing the Philippines, and myself as a Filipino Songwriter, I beg of you to stop humiliating yourself. You have nothing but a BAD REPUTATION at PhilMusic, and I do hope Brian realizes that.

Sorry for out of focus thread. Wherever you are please feel free to post here. Any question you can PM me if you are afraid to this 2 bullies. anyway I was the one who was bullied here because they are so envious that a nobody in the philippines with no musical genius can be a moderator of this esteemed internationally acclaimed music forum. I need you to start a strong community of songwriters here in the philippines.
