Hey everyone, how's it going? I'm Paul working on behalf of Positively Cleveland to bring some exciting news surrounding the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2009 Induction Ceremony. This years ceremony will be taking place in Cleveland for the first time since 1997 and broadcast live on Fuse TV! Inductees include Run DMC, Metallica, Little Anthony & The Imperials, Jeff Beck and Bobby Womack. To celebrate, there will be tons of events happening the week of the ceremony (March 28-April 4), including free concerts! You can check out event listings here: rockhall.com/calendar

Ceremony pre-sale tickets are available for one day by visiting the Rock Hall's box office on January 24th at 10 AM. All tickets go on sale January 26 through Ticketmaster outlets starting at 10 AM. Never in the ceremony's 24 year history has it been made open to the public until now! So be early - tickets are first-come, first-served.

Be sure to enter the Cleveland Rock Hall Induction Ceremonies Sweepstakes too: positivelycleveland.com/induction09. The winner will receive two tickets to the induction as well as a free night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn!

Many thanks,

Wasn't that the name of the theme song to the Drew Carey Show?

I got word about some great show's hitting Cleveland soon!

The Pretenders are coming to town next week at the House of Blues on February 10th! Tickets run between $38.50 - $79.50, doors at 7, show at 8!

Next month, The Eagles will be performing their hits at the Quicken Loans Arena on March 24th!

The "I Kissed a Girl" singer, Katy Perry, is nominated for a Grammy Award this year and also playing at the local House of Blues on March 28th.

If indie is more your thing, Aussie duo The Presets hit the Grog Shop on April 17th at 8. I've personally seen these guys live in concert twice, and I highly recommend it for any electronic music fans... smile

Art enthusiasts looking for something to do might want to check this out! Exhibits by Susan McClelland and Don Henson are on display at the Sculpture Center.

Susan's work with "Accumumlations Retraced" really caught my interest. She used a range of hand stitched fabrics, metal wires and household furniture to construct these unique sculptures. This exhibit is open for viewing in the Main Gallery. Then swing by the Euclid Ave Gallery to see "In Fluid Space," sculpture by Don Henson that showcases the use of aluminum through technologically abstract methods.

These pieces will be on display until February 14th. Gallery hours are 10 to 4 Wednesday through Friday, and noon to 4 Saturdays. Appointments for groups/tours also available, parking and admission are totally FREE! More info @: http://www.sculpturecenter.org/

Hey! I'm back with an update as Cleveland gears up for the Rock Hall Induction Ceremony.

In celebration of the weeklong festivities, many of Cleveland's hottest restaurants and bars are offering live concerts and special music performances to ensure the rockin' doesn't stop - even while dining!

Highlighting a couple of those events:

Friday, March 27:
Prosperity Social Club - Martini Five-O performs.

Saturday, March 28:
Wonder Bar - Jazz and blues performances from 9 pm to 11 pm.

Sunday, March 29:
Brothers Lounge - Jam night with the Band of Brothers, 8:30 pm @ Music Hall

Monday, March 30:
The Metropolitan Cafe - The Metro Servers bring the food and the music! 6 pm to 9 pm.

Tuesday, March 31:
Luxe Kitchen - Blue musicians Hrvek Brothers set to perform.

Wednesday, April 1:
Grovewood Tavern & Wine Bar - Cuyuga brings you folky acoustics.

Thursday, April 2:
Brothers Lounge - Battle of the Unsigned Bands, 9 pm @ Music Hall

Friday, April 3:
Grotto Wine Bar - Madison Crawl playing rockabilly and blues at 9 pm.

These are but a few of many places worth considering, you can check out the full schedule of shows and participating restaurants at Cleveland Food Rocks!

Last chance to reserve your spot at the Rock Hall Induction Ceremony Simulcast! It's the only place outside of the induction itself to see it in its entirety live and un-edited. Plus, two lucky people attending the simulcast will be whisked away rock star style at 7:30 PM and taken to the actual Induction Ceremony for free!

The simulcast will take place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for just $5, but tix are almost gone! If you're interested, just swing by Ticketmaster or the Rock Hall Box Office!

Doors at 7, live broadcast at 8.

Fuse TV will also be covering the events, so if you can't make it out, you can still tune in!

We're quickly approaching the 40th anniversary of the Cuyahoga River fire. Cleveland, Ohio is commemorating that watershed event by celebrating the re-birth of a much greener city. For those unaware, the Cuyahoga River fire was an unfortunate incident that occurred on June 22, 1969 when some molten steel fell from a passing train into a slick of industrial waste floating on the water's surface. This led to a groundbreaking piece of legislation that sparked a major environmental movement. Cleveland has since taken great strides in becoming a green city on a blue lake!

Positively Cleveland is dubbing 2009 "The Year of the River," and has compiled a list of 75 green reasons to love Cleveland along with eco-friendly ways to celebrate summer at http://www.positivelycleveland.com/h2ohio.

Celebrate the "Year of the River" on Monday, June 22, 11:30am to 1:30pm @ Settlers Landing (East Bank). This news conference is set to acknowledge those responsible for 40 years of clean water progress in Northeast Ohio. Following the commemoration, you can come out to the River Re-Birthday Party (a bring-your-own picnic event) from 2-8pm in Heritage Park. There will be games, drumming, dance, history and river lore. As well as a chance to win new t-shirts that say, "Ending 40 Years of Cleveland Jokes." Haha!

Good news for Clevelanders and visitors of Cleveland seeking out locally grown and prepared foods. Local Food Cleveland ( http://localfoodcleveland.org ) is a new online social networking site aimed at helping people connect with the local food culture. It includes a "Buy Local Food" guide featuring interactive maps of more than 80 farmers markets, restaurants, caterers, and more in the Northeast Ohio region!

It doesn't stop at food though. There are plenty of eco-friendly businesses in the area: http://gocleveland.media.officelive.com/green.aspx

Just Plain Quotes
"Our enemies may not be who we think they are. They are not Major Label monopolies. The world will always have 'majors.' They are not big corporations who own everything. The world will always have 'big' ones. Our enemies are not the loud mouthed critics telling us we will fail. The world will always have those too. Our most dangerous enemy is our own quiet acceptance of the fate we perceive these entities have mapped out for us. The only danger is our own complacency, or inactivity, and our willingness to believe so called experts who tell us we 'can't' and that our grim fate is inevitable." -Brian Austin Whitney
