FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE There’s Too Little Time To Prevent Bad Karma Barrington NJ, January 4, 2009 - The Philadelphia Phillies shocked the world when they won their second only World Series title in their 126 year history. Songwriter Scott Campbell wonders if he might have helped. Campbell, who resides in Lakeland Florida, wrote a song titled “Opening Day” and sent it to his friend Mike Caro who lives in Staten Island. Caro, who is also a musician and producer, suggested the song be properly recorded and asked John Daubert of the band, “Too Little Time” to lend his lead vocals for the final demo. All three had known each other though the online music networking site, "Just Plain Folks". (Brian Austin Whitney, Founder). Daubert, a dedicated fan and former baseball player himself attended the Phils pre-season game in 2008. Running into his idol, Greg Luzinski, the two spoke of baseball and music. Daubert mentioned Campbell’s song “Opening Day” and said he had a copy of the CD with him, and would he be interested in listening to it? Luzinski took the CD and said he would pass it on to “office”. Two days went by when Daubert received a call from his granddaughter saying “Opening Day “ was being played over the loudspeakers at the Phils home opener. Now call it luck that the Phils went on to win the World Series after the song “Opening Day” was played or simply a strange coincidence that the C.D. was given to Luzinski, who happened to play in the only other World Series that the Phils won, whatever the reasons, the band Too Little Time is suggesting to all fans and the players not to “mess with karma”. Good luck has already come to a team that has played the song. Why take chances? The band stands ready to help. If you agree that “There’s too little time to prevent bad karma”, you may write to your favorite major league baseball team and ask the song be played or to the Philadelphia Phillies at: Philadelphia Phillies One Citizens Bank Way Citizens Bank Park Philadelphia, PA 19148 or call their executive offices at 215-463-1000. There ya go!
Multiply that by a few hundred thousand fans, (to then catch on elsewhere), and Scott's collecting a Grammy.

John....For those of us dropping a note to the Phillies.. To the attention of? I think this is an example of a real grass roots effort for faithful board members....to support each other...... We already know the song is worthy and has been played at a Phillies Game...the opener at that!...so... a postcard is..how much? ... What would be better John..and all....a postcard, a phone call.. or a letter..? best... Kaley

Good questions Kaley! And thoughtfull too. Thanks for that.
OK,,,I would say if you have free minutes to use up, phone calls.
A letter though, is a hard copy that can be looked at, especially if they get a lot of them. Toss up I guess. As for who to send it to? Two names could be mentioned. Greg Luzinski, and/or the PR boss, Larry Shenk. I'll check on the spelling.
I think whatever anyone wants to do, would all be a great thing to do, and would be a great help. As we gain more attention, so does Just Plain Folks. Iggy and I got together through here. I got to playing out because of being here, (Brian specifically asked me to a showcase). BOOM! The start of playing out again after 30 years NOT! Scott Campbell and Mike Caro and I got together for Opening day because of us all being here! So, as we go, so does JPF. If we don't mention JPF in any interview about anything, we have to shot each other. So, that rule will keep our minds on who and how we got together.
Maybe this request in that press release should go in the general Forum where it will get read by more members. ???
Thanks again Kaley! John
