For those who yearn for a Great Weekend Gettaway kinda movie, I highly-recommend "VICKY CHRISTINA BARCELLONA", written & directed by Woody Allen.
Woody may physically be a ripe old 72, but his Mind is quite young & sexually-active, as he visits Barcelona Spain, via the lives of 2 American Single-Gals, Vicky (Rebecca Hall) and Christina (Scarlett Johansson).
The former's very-reserved & educated, about to marry a young Corporate-Guy, Doug (Chris Messina), who cell-calls daily from NYC. Christina, on the other hand, is a free-spirit, artistically-inclined, open-minded..who weeds out "what she doesn't like" in men as she tries her fair share.
Vicky's researching Catalan Culture, and she gets an Invite to visit a long-married, older friend who lives in Barcelona, Judy Nash (Patricia Clarkson). BFF Christina tags along..& both are invited to an Art Reception by Nash..where the eye of a visiting Artist, Juan Antonio (Javier Barden) notices both.
A later encounter in a Cafe results in Vicky and Christina being invited for a plane ride to Oviedo to see the sights, visit the Artist's father, & spend the evenings in-bed.
The movie gets ever more-beautiful (& funnier) the longer it explores monogamy, fidelity, chasing-your-dream, and settling-for-less, with elegant backgrounds in Oviedo, Aviles, Asturias, and many a splendid romp through Architect Antonio Gaudi's Park Gruel and Cathedral in Barcelona. Penelope Cruz adds a fine touch as Juan Antonio's often irate former lover (Maria Elena) as the Plot Unfolds.
For every Guy who ever fantasized having a Blond AND a Brunette for Simultaneous-Squeezes...and for every Gal who dreamed of "Exciting"-over-"Safe"..here's a wonderful Exploration (& then-some) by Woody Allen. Very Complex, Artsy, and Intelligent, ending up "a very sad film" in Woody's own words. But..let's add-in "often sweet", "quite spicy", and "Brilliant" before giving it an "8 1/2-out-of-10". Fine Acting..Scripting..Directing..Filming...you-name-it, Woody Delivered on this Flick. Hope ya see it!
JMO..Keep-or-Sweep-it! Big Hugs, Stan

Hi Bri!
It's in very Limited Distribution at the momemt...but SHOULD take off like a Missile with proper Word-of-Mouth. It's NOT Woody's typical Neurotic New York-y kinda Pic..tho it does end with a kinda Love-Doesn't-REALLY-Work-out-As-Planned/Hoped-For Note.
WHICH I found Rather-Realistic...Having lived out a few of The Fantasies shown here..in my own life. The "Highly-Religious" will end up giving Woody a Back-Pat for His Conclusion(s) on Polygamy. The Already-Liberal WILL enjoy The Romp. The Usual Woody-Question, "What's MISSING in This Relationship" gets asked Often (and Well). & ALL the Gals SIZZLE/Bardem's a GREAT, VERY Sensitive Hunk! It's as much a Gal as it is a Guy-Flick/GREAT Conversations Afterwards with Your LadyChum are Guaranteed!
JMO..of course..heh! (But I think I elbowed my wife about as often as she elbowed me during the Runnin' Time!)
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan
