I'd like to thank all you folks who wished me well in my other post telling everyone that I just got cast in a speaking role in a feature film.
Well gang, something's brewing in my stars or something.....'cuz I just booked another one!!!!
Big budget sci-fi flick with a superstar name. Shooting in July.
I'll keep you posted.
Oh.... and can someone pinch me please? I have to be dreaming.

I'm one of the 'real' people in a city of, well, 'the un-real'... and that's as specific as I can be right now.
I know, Bob...again. Even the casting assistant made a comment that I was having a great month.
This new one's a bigger pic than the other. Although both are full features with stars.

Hey Brian... I guess I can tell you titles etc. I felt like I didn't want to say anything or I'll jinx it or something.
The first is "This Side of Truth" starring Jennifer Garner and written by Ricky Gervais from 'The Office'. The second is called 'The Surrogates' based on a graphic novel, starring Bruce Willis, directed by Jonathan Mostow, the director of Terminator 3.
Don't get me wrong guys, they're not huge roles, but they're a huge step. I just lucked out that Boston is hopping with filming right now and as Oprah would say my "preparation met opportunity".... over 20 years of preparation!
Get me now Brian. After May 1, I have to join SAG, then I won't have much say over my rates. Talk about a hefty initiation fee. Thankfully I'm in a smaller market and it's less than LA, but it's still over $1500. Must be done. You're allowed to do your first SAG principal job, but have to join before you do a second one.

I started as an actor first and to tell you the truth, I've only ever really wanted to be a 'working actor' in my life.
Music is a passion and a really rewarding offshoot from that and I enjoy performing and recording. Some of my best stage moments have been singing.
But acting is my true 'dream' career. It fills me artistically like nothing else.
Granted a role with a couple of lines isn't exactly Shakespeare, but it should open the door to more. I've worked professionally as a stage actor in the past but film is kind of new for me, especially at this level.
Thanks for posting the movie info Brian. I actually didn't know Rob Lowe and Chris Guest were in 'Truth'. I hope I get to meet Christopher. I love his stuff. I think Jennifer's in my scene.
I exchange lines with Bruce in The Surrogates.
They ARE big profile films. That's why I'm truly busting!! I think the page will come after I do the jobs.

I am delighted for you. As does Brian, I also write screenplays...have two in the works right now. My wife says that I am a good actor...I do a pretty convincing job of acting like an itelligent person! Here's wishing continued success and your well-earned rewards. Break a leg, girl!

Thanks Stan. It's based on a successful graphic novel and the concept sounds cool, it's big budget and the director is known for non stop effects, you've got Bruce in there, so it's at least going to be a decent roller coaster ride I think.
From one sci-fi geek to another, one of my favorite expressions is "patience Jedi"! I say it to myself whenever I find myself forgetting that anything worthwhile takes a while. Patience is one of my life themes it seems....lol
Another I use often applying to music and acting is from the same source: "try not. Do or do not. There is no try."
