The 2008 Great Lakes Songwriting Contest is open, and this year, you can enter without filling up the landfill. Yes, thanks to a new partnership with Sonic Bids, you can enter the contest paperlessly -- for no extra charge! (Or, you can still mail in your songs, if you prefer.) And in honor of our fifth year of organizing songwriting contests, we’ve raised the Grand Prize and lowered the entry fee. No age limits, no song categories, and winners keep ALL rights to their songs. Entrants must be current residents of one of the eight states bordering the Great Lakes, or the Province of Ontario, Canada. Deadline is April 26. Go to http://www.GreatLakesSongs.com for everything you need.

"A lot of people will tell you that preparation is what will make you successful. But I think that people misunderstand exactly what that means sometimes. The type of preparation you need most is the kind that allows you to instantly seize an opportunity, change your course based on a momentary circumstance, and grab hold of the totally unexpected when it happens, and allow it to take you for the ride of your life! That is the kind of preparation that can lead to the most enjoyable type of success." -Brian Austin Whitney
