Anybody out there? Well, I thought I'd start a new topic and do some shameless promotion at the same time. I have a couple new songs that have been doing real good for me. "Hello" was my attempt at writing the perfect ringtone song. "America's Best Friend" my own salute to our troops. You can hear them at my myspace space. (?) (Is there a good way to say that?) The link: http://www.myspace.com/waynelongtinAnybody else got new stuff? Lets hear it! Wayne

Hey Wayne, Congrats on that Friday night gig. I hope it turns out the way you want it too. Yea, "my myspace space", works for me!

Hey Steve, I think this gig is a shoe-in but you never know. Hopefully I won't drool too much or forget words. I was going to start a new topic but spent my time promoting myself. (Shameless) So here's a question for anybody that wants to respond. How many gigs have you thought were going to be great that turned bad? Or, the other way around, how many that looked bad turned out to be great? This past summer we did a show at a barn in southern Iowa. In the loft. Just hauling the equipment up the winding staircase in the 95 degree heat was a chore. Then, no air conditioning and bad acoustics. It looked like a bad one but turned out to be one of my better experiences of the summer. Is there a percentage we could figure out that would help us from taking bad gigs? Or, do we all take it as it comes? By the way Steve, I heard from my friend Daryl Weyman in British Columbia. He recorded 2 of my songs today in the studio. So... He is the Johnny Cash look-a-like I worked with in 2006. He got on the "Legends Tour" and is doing some pretty heavy shows around the country. I'll be going up to Canada in the next few weeks to do some shows with him. Gotta get a passport now! When did they do that? Later, Wayne www.waynelongtin.com

Wayne, you have a great time "Up Nort There Hey". Boy, I need to get my passport renewed too just in case I need to get out of Dodge quick. I've had my share of "good gigs gone bad" and visa versa. But, I guess after playing gigs for over 35 years, one would have to expect that though.
