There's a LOT of Heartwarming Zaniness in Director Menno Meyje's "Martian Child." The Acting is also Solid-Enough: John Cusack as recently-widowed/now adoptive-single-parent-Dad David. Young Bobby Coleman's believable as the "Spacey" Adoptee, Dennis. & Amanda Peet does her part as Scene-Brightener & potential Next-Mate as Harlee. IF you were once part of the NON "In-Crowd", wondering "IF You Were Loved", this Flick WILL Resonate with you.
Throughout the Movie you're kept wondering if the Strange-Behaving-Kid IS a Martian..THEN ya find out. I think perhaps this story could've been told in Half-The-Time, tho little Side-Vignettes, Like Angelica Houston as Cusack's Publisher, DO add to the Storyline & Enjoyment. So..Let's give it a 6 1/2-outta-10, for a Flick you CAN take the Kiddies to..that might just open some Doors to Communication with them..if you do.
JMO...Keep-or-Sweep!
