Maybe this has been covered somewhere but I could not find it. If it has please direct me to the correct post.
The JPF Road trip is going to be overlapping Pineyfest.
Will the JPF road trip shows be held in a different place than Pineyfest? All of Pineyfest's events are at Lyrix. I know JPF will be at the Blue Bird on Thursday night. What about the other nights? If it is going to be at Lyrix with Pineyfest, who's agenda will be followed for the evening open Mic shows? If I am already signed up for Pineyfest do I also have to sign up for the JPF showcases in advance?

OK I am going to partially answer this myself The FAQ has this
Wed, Aug 1: Nashville, TN Pineyfest Music Conference --(Contact Bobbie Gallup for more info at bgallup@aol.com) Thu, Aug 2: Nashville, TN Venue Set: Bluebird Cafe 6-8PM (2006 JPF Award Winner Showcase) --(Note: This is a feature showcase that is already booked. We welcome you to come out and see some of the very best JPF Award winners. Tentatively Scheduled for this show are 2007 Male and Female Artists of the Year Bob Malone and Melody Guy, Horizon Winner Chris Young, Songwriter of the Year Janis Ian, Song of the Year Winner Cheley Tackett, Album of the Year Winner Erika Luckett and 2004 Country Song/2006 Americana Song winner Kim McLean. We only wish we had 4 hours to see this much talent, but we'll be packing into 2 hours for this special one of a kind showcase. Reserve seats directly with the Bluebird Cafe. There's no charge for this event, but normal venue minimums would apply). Fri, Aug 3: Nashville, TN Pineyfest Music Conference --(Contact Bobbie Gallup for more info at bgallup@aol.com) Sat, Aug 4: Nashville, TN Venue Set: Lyrix Sun, Aug 5: Nashville, TN JPF Nashville Chapter Meeting
Per Bobbie
The only infringement on Pineyfester playing time is the Tuesday(I think Bobbie meant Thursday) evening thing at the Bluebird. Otherwise I am still in charge of all activities and performance times for Pineyfest..which will be at Lyrix. We will still be having performance opportunities for Fester folk on Wednesday and Friday evening. Brian has set up a separate JPF night at Lyrix on Saturday but that is an additional event...to which Festers are also welcome. That is the evening that I am sure will be quite jammed schedulewise.
I think this answers my question.
Thanks Bobbie

That's pretty much it. I asked Bobbie if she wanted to do the dual night on Thursday at the Bluebird and she said yes before I booked it. I figured it would be a nice evening for folks to see some great talent and relax at the world famous bluebird. Our Saturday JPF show is regular JPF format and happens after Pineyfest is over.
I should be at Pineyfest off and on throughout the 3 days seeing what is up. I'll also try to hit the Friday night Pineyfest showcase and just take pics/video as if it were a regular JPF showcases, though I won't be running it or involved in the scheduling. The Sunday date is up in the air at this time (Aug 5). I may instead do some documentary interviews that day/night.

Here's the 68 artists/members signed up for the Saturday Lyrix Show: I doubt all of these folks will show up but the record is 65 and Barbara Cloyd seemed interested in the mass number. I'd think more Pineyfest attendees would also want to attend, but so far few have signed up.

Is Lyrix the same one that sits on First Avenue, just outside of downtown?
With the great view of the skyline from the deck around the building?
Just beside of Cardwell's gas station?

I will be there, if for no other reason than to introduce myself and let whoever is there from the boards see what I look like, ask me any questions, find out who I am and what I'm about....
Since I don't sing or play, I won't be performing, but I still want to be a part of it all...
If that's alright with you...

I attended both showcases and they were absolutely wonderful! I posted a bit about them in my "Wendy V's Nashville Blend" blog: http://wvnashblend.blogspot.com/ . Brian, thanks for letting me grab your clipboard in my attempt to capture all the names of those who performed. I did my best--but if any of you see anyone I left out or whose name I completely butchered, please let me know so I can fix it. It was also fun to meet Bobbie Gallup and Mike Dunbar and put "faces" to the posts! Kudos to all you great talents for sharing your musical gifts!
