This is a smart lyric, with poetic and insightful images throughout. The writing and the story both come across as authentic and personal. Which, IMO, is all that matters.
Now as far as similarities or comparisons go, I would definitely say "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" immediately came to mind... especially the track titled: "Wig in a Box". Of course it's a completely different story (by a mile and two feet) but it has the right vibe. Which may or may not impress you - but it's a track/album worth pursuing.
The idea of going from the quiet solitude between shows, Peace, back to the screaming crowds and jammin' music, Hysteria, plays and needs the musical treatment to convey it.
Snake, don't you play guitar? Man, don't let the cops know. They won't let you stay in Nashville without playing guitar or somethin'! That's why you'll notice everybody fakes air guitar when the cops go by, so they think you're still songwriting on your way somewhere. If you ain't got one, you need a guitar man. You've got songs in ya, comin' through ya, and they're gonna keep coming, so you've got the rest of your life to learn it. And as for singing, some of my favorites sang with the voice they had and got along just fine.

There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com
