Wow. Hey guys...we've been MIA for awhile, but we're up here and back in action. We've missed y'all and it will be nice to come to a meeting and see everyone and offer some support to the group.
Unfortunately because it's on a Friday night, we can't come to this!!! GRRRRR!!!! We are gigging that whole weekend on both the 27th and 28th.
Well...have fun and maybe we can make it when the next regular meeting comes around...hopefully it will be on a Sunday when we're off.

My name has been edited off the list as I have canceled due to being on the road and have registered for the Charleston, SC event on the 22nd.

Does anyone even need a bass amp or drums? I understand that so far no one has volunteered a drum set, so none will be available. I presently don't need my bass rig that night and really don't want to bring my bass amp if no one else needs it, either.

It would be nice to know if we need more than a PA and some direct boxes. Do we even need a back line?

Actually, I'll need a bass amp, but I can bring my little 15" practice amp. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a line out, but I do have a splitter. I wish my Nemesis hadn't konked out! Most of the time, I just use my little Aguilar preamp into a board, but I've noticed that with the smaller pa setups, the way I play tends to clip (I play an agressive 6-string). Since I don't know the room or the pa, please let me know what configuration might work best.

I'll be bringing my P.A. 16 channel Mackie, 3000 watts need I say more. I will also be bringing a couple of extra stage sections and light bars just to make sure we have the best showcase possible and could use some help setting up. I'll be there at 2PM. We will need qualified sound techs to run shifts on the board throughout the night, we'll need help managing the stage as Brian will host and I will have my hands full making sure the line up is organized. Anyone....?.... So far no one has said they need a drum kit so its up to someone (a band) to step up and provide.
Sean, do you actually need a bass rig or will playing through a direct box and through the p.a. work?/ It should. Are you performing with a bass? If its a guitar the P.A. will work.
The rest of youz guys get ready cuz this is gonna be cool. Start chiming in here......
Al

Somewhere I saw a note about there being a Thurs. night meeting & the music line-up for Fri. I can't seem to recall where I saw that... but is it so?

hey Al, it sounds like your Mackie should do the trick. I play an aggressive 6-string bass that has tended to clip and distort a little at other open mics, but 3000 watts shouldn't be a problem. I have a nice little Aguilar preamp for tone, I just don't want to burn out any channels.

Hey All, Well, for whatever reason, no doubt some shortcoming on my part, I'm just finding out about this. DRAT!! It's like the one Friday night I have off and am at home this summer. I could've actually made it. But, it sounds like a crowded house and w/no chance of performing so, it's doubtful I'll be there. Really hate to miss the opportunity. I may change my mind and show up anyway, who knows. Hope you have a fabulous time and that everyone plays way outside of themselves to the max! My thoughts will certainly be with you. All the best 2 U, Fremont John www.fremontjohn.com

I've got a Roland bass amp I can bring. I think it is 100 watts. It has a line out.
