Well, my hopes for the Fairy Godmother Rap as played by the orchestra pit is gone... not enough time and it's just been me trying to play the 'riff' on my guitar at rehersal - not good. But my son (who plays the Storyteller) just happened to pick up the little CD player we have there for those long night of set building, and he started to pretend to be all funky like...
Well, I had an epiphany (it's like a trombone but without all the buttons and valves...) and I talked to the choreographer (Stephanie who plays the Wife) and came up with a simple solution: I re-record the FGRap (tomorrow - one day...) and the FG and her henchgirls will enter the scene carrying a ghetto blaster (I'm an old fart - that's what we call them...) and at the appropriate time, hit 'play' and then the music will play and we (the orchestra pit) can have a breather... yes, there's only 10 songs and we're going to be bored as all get out but...
did I mention the chairs are really uncomfortable...? did I mention I hope I get a good mix on the tune...? btw, new pics of the set tomorrow night (late - e.s.t. and depending on how my back is doing - it's crap) with the 'stone' walls and such... the Concord Monitor wants to come by and do an article on the thing... still waiting on a second inquiry from NH Chronicle...

I've added a few more pics on pic page 2 with some stone wall covering. Painting starts tonight and the Monitor is coming by sometime this week. The orchestra students sound great and the new pre-recorded Fairy Godmother Rap tune will be played over the PA so the FG & her 2 henchgirls have actual music to sing/dance with. Oh how I hate crunch time...
