Hey all, haven't been around in a while but need a favor. I remember the folks on here comming up with Salem West for someone and I need the same favor. There is a gay porn star with my real name .com and also a folk singer named Steve Pierce. I have tried all combinations with my name but the websites are are taken and they all seem to be musicians(isn't everyone?).

I am open to all suggerstions no matter how off the wall.
Thanks, Steve(not the gay porn star or folk singer) Pierce

LOL, all kinds of well known people have my married name and my maiden name.

Do you have a middle name?

What is your mother's maiden name?

You could just call yourself "Steven" no last name.

or Steffan Pierce

My style of music is country-rock-a-folk-a-billy. I'm open to anything serious or stupid.

I tried using my middle name in all the forms that I think of but someone still always had it.

Christine may have it with the Pierce Stevens. Piercestevens.com is a chemical company but piercestevensmusic.com is avalable. A google search returned no one named pierce stevens but the chemical company. There is no Pierce Steven on soundclick either.

I am still open to other suggestions before i make up my mind.

Thank you all, Steve(the not gay but wants to be a straight porn star) pierce

"Pierce Stevens" is good, but I'm still tempted to suggest a trade. Contact the other Steve Pierrce and tell him you'll bill yourself as Steve "Not the Porn Star" Pierce if he'll bill himself as Steve "Not the Rock Star" Pierce. It'd be tons of fun (and publicity) if you ever managed to do a show together...

If at all possible, choose something that is almost impossible to misspell. Pierce Stevens fails, as there are different ways to spell it. I said IF POSSIBLE, haha.

Also piercestevensmusic.com is a bit long. Not terrible, but not ideal.

How about "Hank Pierce"??

The 'Musicians Friend' online catalog used to have a band name generator in their 'fun things to do section', I don't know if it's still running.

I like 'Pierce Stevens' too.

Well if straight porn star is your goal, how about:
Buck Ditkis, or Rocky Billy smile

Actually, if it is a band name you are looking for, I kind if like the name of your location in Kentucky, Stamping Ground. I don't know if that is a real place or not but it has a ring to it.

Too bad you're not a blues musician.....

How to create a blues name:
1) Name of physical infirmity ("blind" has been used...)
2) First name or name of a fruit (Lemon, Lime, Cherry)
3) Last name of a President (Jefferson, Johnson, Fillmore, etc.)

Of course, using this formula, one could always come up with something along the lines of "Hangnail Kiwi Clinton" or "Hemmorhoid Starfruit Eisenhower." Not what you're looking for.

If you kept your name, you could also bill your shows like: "Steve Pierce...the porn star or the rock star? Come find out!" website - stevepiercetherockstar dot com or stevepiercetherockabillydude dot com or whatever. You could always keep your real name and tag it with what you do, and make part of your moniker that which makes you different. People will know immediately what you're all about.

Other family names make good food for thought -- only thing is with your mom's maiden name, that's often used as a security question. (Tho in south Louisiana, it's pretty useless - everyone knows everyone's family tree for several generations.)

Here's a writing exercise that might lead you into an interesting direction. On a blank sheet of paper, write one word that sums up your music. Doesn't matter what it is, this is for you only. Then, "cluster" off of it...write whatever phrases, words, etc. come to mind around it. This can lead you to thinking in a different direction, and might give you a word that can transform into a name. Or start writing without lifting the pen from the paper (except to move from one line to another) and write continuously about your music, possible names, etc. for 15 - 20 minutes and see what comes out of your subconscious.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide on so we can all say "I knew him when..."

Hey all,
I wouldn't mind keeping the porn stars name but it's the other muscian named Steve Pierce that is hanging me up. He has cd's on ebay and music all over the internet. I started to go with a porn name like "Big Steve Longfellow" but I was afraid I'd get arrested for giving false information.

Brian, believe it or not, I have a brother named Billy Pierce

Brenda, If I took a blues name, would all of my songs have to start out "when I woke up this mornin"? Do you realize that all blues player's problems would be solved it they just slept till the afternoon. Everything bad happens to them when they wake up in the morning.

Thank you all again, Steve(not so longfellow)Pierce

You forgot the twin brother--Double Dover.

I still think Steve-Not-the-Porn-Star would do it. It'd take care of the folk musician, too, don't y'see? You just capture the high ground early, and let the other two fight over the depths. It'd be fun to watch.

You said you needed a "stage" name. How about

"Stagecoach" or "Stage Coach" (if it's spelled that way)

The name right off the bat has connotations of country and your taking your listeners where they want to go musically. Sometimes stagecoachs have bumpy rides cause of the rough terrain and that's the rocks in the road another metaphor for your rock music.

Best,
Lynn

There are two famous Roger Taylors. Both are drummers. In famous bands. They might get mixed up once in a while, but not that often, and it's easily sorted out.

I like Pierce Stevens too. It feeds off Pierce Brosnan's fame and good looks... why not?

Steve-not-the-porn-star is funny, but still might do more for his career than yours. smile

hey folks,
After carefully considering some great names like: Buck Ditkis, Malcolm xxx, Johnny Deep and Donald Rumps-felt, I have decieded that Pierce Stevens it is.
Christine, after I make my first million with this name I'll buy you a happy meal or some nuggets or something. Thank You.
On another singer porn star note while researching my problem I found that Mariah Carey was in a battle with a porn star over her name.

Thank you all again, Pierce

Best of luck with your new alter ego.

Here are several suggestions.Give yourself some initials, such as
I M Steve Pierce, say it fast and it sounds like I aM Steve Pierce,or to seperate your self from the porn star, say I aM (the straight) Steve Pierce,or I aM (the real) Steve Pierce.Or (the) Straight Steve Pierce,or Steve(Straight)Pierce.LOL Have fun with it.

Christine, congratulations. I think you may have to go somewhere else to claim your reward, though; I believe McDonalds' attitude is if it don't got meat in it, the meal ain't happy. (I'm a vegetarian, too.)

That said, when I was in college back East, there was a local chain of burger joints it was reportedly safe for vegetarians to eat at--because the burgers had next to no meat content.<g> There may be hope yet...

My pet cat is named Cat. I guess this makes him the new Cat Stevens.

I would still use "Fierce Pierce" as my stage name.

Gee, I thought my "Hemmorhoid Starfruit Eisenhower" was pretty bad....but it looks like things are going downhill in a hurry! HA!

I like "Pierce Stevens." Has a nice balance of strength and vulnerability...and would look really really good on a marquee, CD, tee, etc. And it's the kind of name that's different enough, but familiar enough, so that people will say "hey...haven't I heard of him?"

As for blues, you know the shortest blues song is "I didn't wake up this morning...." (groan, groan).
