Hey all,
I just got an e-mail from the International Songwriting Competition saying that "Devil's Dune" "advanced to the next round of judging in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition." They go on to say, "Congratulations on this achievement. With over 14,000 songs entered into ISC 2006, making it this far along in the competition is a great accomplishment and a testament to your songwriting talent."
The next round will determine the semi-finalists and then one more round for the finalists. Finalists will be announced on Feb. 1, 2007 and the winners will be announced on March 1, 2007.
It seems a bit early to say anything. I hate to jinx it but, what the hell, they encourage making an announcement. And just perhaps, with some positive thought energy from my JPF brothers and sisters, I just might be surprised.
THINK GOOD THOUGHTS ABOUT "DEVIL'S DUNE" AND THE 2006 ISC.
All the best,
Fremont John

Right On! Thats a kick ass tune. I have played it in my car in the house and on my radio show and dedicated it to the troops. Keep us in the loop Monty. Two thumbs up! Keep Strummin' Al www.baspass.comwww.aandrproductions.com

Thanks Jeff, that's what I need.
Ms Goody, not sure 'bout that. I hope you're playing it often. Placing high in a contest like the ISC would really help. Not much any of us can do on that though. If I think of something I'll be sure to let you know.
Best,
FJ

sorry to break the news but i think everyone gets that message, they then send you a message a few days later marketing a new event to you - did you get that? - thats marketing for you, could be wrong but last year there were 599 semi-finalists

One of my entries made it to the second round, but not all of them. And yes, I did receive a marketing offer a few days later. I wasn't offended. 599 semi-finalists in 18 categories seems about right, and 599 out of 14,000+ is less than 5% of the entries. I don't mind being in that company. Tomorrow we'll learn who made it to the finals. Making it to the finals and getting my song in front of those judges would be as good as winning, as far as I'm concerned. Check 'em out. Good luck to fremontjohn and everyone else in the running.

A good luck wish to Freemont John & Meyer Baron. Making it as far as you both have is a good thing. In the top 599 out of 14,000 is a great accomplishment. I have heard you both and you both deserve a win. Take Care!
