Hi folks.... I'm going to be interviewed on internet radio next week. T'will be New year's eve... Dec 31, 300 PM (Texas time) at www.KBIGRadio.netNot exactly the best time I could imagine, but this was last minute add on.... They had space and a friend is cousin to the gal who will interview me. I tried to check out the station last week...but with my dial-up connection... all I get is buffering. I'm so excited.... It's early enough airing on the west coast (before the partying gets heavy) that someone might actually be listening

That's exciting! It may be a great time actually...there are many people that I know who don't go out New Years Eve and may just tune into that show! Will you be singing any of your songs too? If you're airing on the west coast how does that translate in to the when the east coast should listen for you? I'd like to try! Take Care, Linda

yeah.. I'm hopeful...I just have no idea how much of a listening audience this site has... and so I can't even give a wild guess how those numbers would change next week.
I'm one hour earlier than you are in Maine.... so the broadcast would be at 4PM your time.
It's a net radio station... so it "airs" (is that even the right word??LOL) all over the world... But I know that translates to late night/early morning for anyone not in US or Canada. (well into partytime...or sleep-it-off time )

Over halfway on the songs? GREAT! I'm waiting with baited ears or something like that on the picture.... no can do right now... I'm using my husband's laptop for the next week or so and the pictures he has on file are too big. (the ones I have are too, but I have a resizing program on my computer) I will have to wait until after New Years Day when I can get back to my computer and resize something. and besides Herbie...YOU know what I look like

Yep... it;s getting close... tomorrow! I got a call yesterday from the gal who will be handling my interview... she mentioned that there was a full line-up of interviews from 1-4PM (Texas time) I think... actually one extra one thrown into the mix in the hours before mine. I wish I could remember the name she said... but he's in Starship.. (for those older farts like me... who might need a refresher course... Jefferson Airplane....Jefferson Starship... Starship...) I'm bad with names..... had she said Grace Slick THAT I would remember,,,, so who knows.... there may be a few people hanging on after he appears listening to the rest of us

I was interviewed on a public access TV show once... but we got to tape and re-tape until we got it right....
(got all the way through a song to the middle of the last verse,and as someone walked into the room I totally blew the words ...but like I said..we just retaped it)'This will be live... well maybe a minute or two delay... who knows...

tsk tsk Herbie... I can't even take a drink to relax me (not that it ever works for me ) because I have to drive through city traffic to get there... and back... plus I get sinus attacks from alcohol anymore... and the last thing I want is to sing with a nasal voice yikes

well......... it went very well. They have a very small operation... still growing... but at this point very VERY small, no archives... and if I was reading his monitor rightly (from a little distance..) not many listeners. It was after all New year's Eve.... BUT...... it was a rousing success. They loved my music... and are adding the CD music to their playlist. They cover 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's,90's...... a huge variety. They take requests ...anyone can send them an email at their yahoo address and they will play the song. otherwise...with the huge song catalog ...the rotation would take a while. BUT ALSO they are putting Last Man On Earth into heavy rotation...so it will show up more often. They also gave me an open invitation to come back anytime I had new music...or a show to promote. This man and his wife are quite good friends with some of the folks at one of the big Dallas radio stations... so I have also made a good connection... and every little step helps.. and.... of minor concern to most people, except me... I got a "well done" from my biggest critic... my husband. He had tried to give me all this advise...don't do this... do that...most of which was nothing different from how I had planned to act... and apparantly he approved LOL and he said "you didn't put me down!" geez give me some credit as a professional!

Pretty cool to be on the radio Harriet, even if it wasn't a huge audience
---why DO you girls do that to us men? He's happy just not to get slammed---I know the feeling as do most married guys. It must do SOMETHING for you gals---I think my wife has the biggest smile when she's bashing me....

actually... depending on the audience... I will often preface my singing of Last Man on Earth by saying I did NOT write it about my husband. at times I will tell a little about the 3 choice males of the species... who inspired the song. and I did mention one of those yesterday... the other two stories aren't meant for family radio LOL

Herbie, I don't think it's so much that we smile when we bash, it's more that we smile when we're right and hopeful that we're recognized for our own decision making abilities(it feels good to know we've been heard too!:D).

Well...Friends did have..broadband...but it was a notebook that wasn't working well with sound.... I couldn't listen.... sorry....I wanted to. Very proud of you.... And my guess is that they played Last Man at least once ..since my CDBaby page was accessed through a search for that song. (or at least someone who was listening but maybe not when the CDBaby site was mentioned wanted to hear it again.) It's progress... it's all progress but famous? no more famous than you... my dear! (but that's good company....to me

Thanks Linda, well darn...sorry about your audio... I went for 3 years with a computer that had no sound... It drove me crazy... (I often have the sound turned off at night so that I don't disturb my sleeping husband....but if there's something I want to listen to I can always put on the headphones (I don't like being tethered though LOL) I wish they had recorded and had archived this...but these folks are really doing this on a shoestring budget at present. and they are just starting out... I don't think it's been that many months... \I have an open invitation to come back anytime...and if(make that WHEN) I do...I'll let you know...and hopefully your computer won't revolt again...

Thanks Kaley, I really didn't expect yhat you would be able to listen.... seems like half the people who were planning to either had computer troubles...or family emergencies... Like I said above... I have an open invitation to come back and maybe next time..... or the next? the radio station is at www.KBIGRadio.netyou can send emails to these 3 addresses KBigRadio@aol.com KBigRadio999@hotmail.com KBigRadio999@yahoo.com and for those local folks (which is not even me LOL) you could call Office Line (972)221-7737 well gee...which song? I suppose you could try to create a buzz over Last Man on Earth since it's already supposed to get "some" airplay.... then again if other songs get requested much...they would be upped to a higher rotation... I'd say request what you want to hear
