Hi Folks,
We're only a couple days away from our Kingston, NY Showcase. I always enjoy hanging with our Woodstock/Hudson Valley area folks, especially as a contrast to the rat race that is NYC traffic and parking! It will be great to see some old friends at this show and make some new ones.
MONDAY, JUNE 6 Backstage Studio Productions 323 Wall St. Kingston, NY 845 338 8700
Meet for networking at 7PM and the music will start after that.
We have a small lineup at this show, so I think it will allow us to get in some documentary questions to each performer after you perform. What this entails is me asking one of our general questions that we are posing to artists in every city such as:
Tell us about your worst gig ever? Tell us about your biggest moment as a performer? Tell us about the songs that first got you excited by music? Tell us the goofy song that you wouldn't want the cool kids at school to know you loved?
And so on. You get the idea. What we're looking for is brief but funny or poignant stories. These are our sort of "man on the street" type interviews where we'll compile the most interesting responses we get from North America to each of 12-15 general questions we've been asking. Remember to keep your answers as concise as possible. And of course the more interesting you are, the more likely you'll make it into the final project.
We will ask a question after you perform and you can just looking into the camera and answer. We will meet for networking and set up around 7PM and start the music around 7:30PM (assuming all of you are on time!). I expect the event will last around 2.5 hours so we should be done by 10PM, give or take.
Set 1: (Starting around 7:30PM)
01. Barby Matthews 02. Tom Neilson 03. Charlie Smith, Rob Aronstein 04. Victoria Bouffard 05. Kevin Wayne 06. Abby Lappen 07. Tim Hunter 08. Von Cello 09. Aliza Hava 10. James Krueger
Short Break/Stretch Legs/Network/Buy T-Shirts! = )
Set 2:
11. Still UnDivided 12. Tryptomind 13. Steve Robinson 14. Amy Laber 15. Cherrell Gregory 16. Steven Bacon 17. Esther Frances & The Holographic Donuts 18. Mike Aguirre 19. Deb Cavanaugh 20. Vickie Russell
The venue has a PA, but beyond that, you'll need to supply any other gear you need.
If you have any questions, please email me and I will try to get back with you ASAP. If you need to cancel, please let us know that ASAP as well.
Also, we have room for more artists, so if an of you have friends who would like to perform, we'd love to have them!
See you all in Kingston!
Brian

If you still have timeslots available, i'd love to come by an play for y'all. My name is Erica Pivko, but i perform as salix. I'm a local singer songwriter who also plays guitar. I've been writing and performing for about 12 years. I live right down the street from BSP, and just found out about this a couple of days ago. It sounds like a great group. I look forward to checking out the event!
