Where?



Scrap Bar and Smoke house BBQ, a great little BBQ joint located on Miami beach. It is owned by a group of great guys that love music and goes out of their way to make every patron feel like a guest. There prices are an added bonus, they wont pick you up by your ankles and shake you poor. But they will leave you fed and wet, for a reasonable price.

There pulled smoke pork is to die for.

Who will keep it going?

The Grave Shakers will be hosting a Blues & BBQ open mic jam.

If you are into the Blues, or if you enjoy nothing more than grabbing your axe out of the closet and dusting off the case, then this is that time. You better use the Armor-all, and make it shine. The Grave shakers are a seasoned Blues band with many years of Blues experience under their belts. Dare I say probably the hottest blues band in South Florida? This is your chance to share the stage with some great cats that can make your chops sing as they’re meant to.



The Grave Shakers feature Pix-E, hands down the best Harmonica player you will see in our time. You’d probably have to dig up a grave to find niern’ better. He’s not a harmonica player he is a musician, with customized harmonicas in every key and specialized microphone, he damn near makes that sucker sound like a B3 organ. Rob Alfano on the drums and scrub board in perfect time, bonding the Rhythm section together along with Jay Licausi on Bass guitar, they keep a solid groove. Tom “Foggy” Dandelet on guitar, he is a seasoned drummer as well, and takes the drums when Rob busts out the scrub board. Grant Piper is the Guitar and Lead Vocals, his soulful voice has been called a great tone, and his guitar licks are all in the right places, while leaving the spaces for the dynamics of the band to be heard loud and clear. All combined together this band wields over 100 years of blues experience, and it shows.

Who else will be there?

Some local, everything Fender related enthusiasts, from the Fender discussion page. The FDP is a world known Fender internet forum where novice and seasoned veterans alike log on to exchange musical ideas and further their passion in music. Various cities around the world get together from time to time to jam for an afternoon and meet each other. Some meet each other for the first time in person, even though they have known them for years on the Forum. We get every one from Precession Bass, Jazz Bass, Stratocaster, Telecaster to Jagmaster players. There are even some great drummers and Keyboard players in the mix. Some aren’t even musicians at all, but they know good people when they see it. For the FDP is a great people to hang out with of all kinds.

What can we expect for sound and stage equipment?



The Best Damn Jam, or some call us the Open Jam guys, will be running sound and managing the stage, for your every whim. We will have a full PA rig, and plenty of DI boxes, Mic’s, Monitors, Amps, and will make sure your moments in the jam is heard. Come on down and plug in. Bring the missus, so she can see what you do with the gear you keep buying.

Well how do I get there?



From I-95:



1.Take the 79th street exit east for 4 miles

2.Follow 79th street over the JFK causeway and stay right. 79th Street turns into 71st street at that point

3.Take 71st street for about 1.5 miles. The scrap bar & Smoke house is on your right.

Scrap Bar and Smokehouse is not a cool place to see bands and get great BBQ. As a musician, I would not play there or go to see live shows. Scrap Bar is way too small for what they are trying to do. For such a small room, the volume is way too loud, and the people weren't very cool.

I see what they are trying to do, but it's not the right location or size.
