Hi Everyone,

Just an update on the Southeastern Mass Chapter of Just Plain Folks:

- Next Meeting Date and Agenda
- Membership Drive
- PIXY 103 update
- March Showcase Recap

- THE NEXT MEETING
Our next chapter meeting will be on Monday, April 18 from 6:30-8:30pm at Kiskadee Coffee Company, 18 Main St. Plymouth (the same place as the last showcase). The first half of the meeting will be used for chapter business and roundtable discussion. The second half of the meeting will be an "Internet Marketing Workshop", a discussion that will explore ways to maximize your internet presence and ways to market your music inexpensively using the internet. Stay tuned for word on possible invited guests. If you know of anyone who we should invite to speak as part of the event, let Kim or me know ASAP.

Also at the meeting, we will be:
• planning to begin our Just Plain Jam sessions. Please come to the meeting with ideas and possible contacts for locations and theme ideas for the jams (i.e. blues jam, Beatles jam etc...)

• planning for The Just Plain Folks Road Trip. It's coming to us at the end of May! Come with ideas for things we can do to celebrate this major event.

• planning for our summer live showcase. Please come with contacts for venues who might be interested in hosting us.

• discussing future speakers and summits. Please come to the meeting with any personal contact information for industry professionals you know who might be interested in sharing their knowlege with us and ideas for other workshops or summits we could sponsor.

• open idea discussion, general business.

- MEMBERSHIP
Since we are a new chapter, membership recruitment is something we should focus on. Challenge: everyone should try to get one musician friend to come with them to the next meeting, or if you can't make the meeting, email all your musician friends, tell them about JPF and ask if you can pass along their email addresses to receive our newsletter emails.

- PIXY UPDATE
After we submitted all of the music submissions to Suzanne at Pixy 103, she made the decision not to post just two tracks on their website in their 'artist of the month' section. Instead, Kim and I will co-host the Homegrown local music show this Sunday night, 4/3. Tune in from 8-10pm and we'll give EVERYONE who submitted a spin and a plug! We’ll also play a few local JPF award winners and nominees.

- SHOWCASE RECAP
We had an incredible showcase at the beginning of the month at Kiskadee Coffee. Ten folks performed in a 3 hour show that included rock, folk, country, political satire, an ‘off the cuff’ blues jam and a night closing REM sing along. Folks came from as far away as Western MA to perform and the venue had it's second busiest night ever! The performers were: Mike Visconti, Jeff Forti, Marty Helly, Paul Nixon, Princess Leia, Lisa Martin, Chris Ingraham, The Drop Band, Tom Neilson and Tall Richard.

"We're all in this together"

Peace,
