Hey everyone,

Heads up on a cool local music happening!

Suzanne Tonaire, dj of the local music show "Homegrown' and program director for the Cape's rock station PIXY103 has started a regular musicians night at The British Beer Company (BBC) in Cedarville, MA. (exit 2 off route 3)

I played the launch last night and it was very cool. It's a great way for local artists to audition for the BBC, which is currently regularly booking local original music. Plus it's a cool way to support our local music and also mix a bit with some other musicians in the scene here.

Last night showed some great talent and there were some especially fun moments when attending musicians sat in with other acts totally impromptu..... one of the Grabb brothers did a beautiful spontaneous flute accompaniment to an original song by rocking Bob Cat, who 'blue" down the house with his harp and a borrowed guitar.

The audience also loved Mike Visconti and his band who joined in the fun with some really fine instrumental rock.

Special thanks to George on congas and the guy on the djembe (who got me to play his drum and sing at the same time...lol... sorry I never did catch your name).. it was fun to have you sit in with us.

There were tons of other great local artists there too...

Jolie, who runs southshoremuse.com, a website dedicated to South Shore music, was there checking the event out as well.

Suzanne's going to host this event series once a month. The next one is March 16. Definitely check it out. Stay tuned to PIXY for details and contact Suzanne through the radio station if you want to play one.
