had to laugh at the actually very good idea in the JPF newsletter of having lunch with someone every day. I don't know about Y'all but I eat more when dining out! Good idea tho'. Was wondering if anyone else has a "trick" they do regularly. It's difficult to do all your pr work yourself. the problem is when it starts working (and you get gigs etc) you don't have the time anymore to do the pr work and then when the work is over you often end up with a gap from the time when you were not able to do all the pr work due to the music making work. Anybody want to move to Duesseldorf and be our agent?

Dixie,
You're correct in that once folks start having a little success from their efforts, they often make the giant mistake of stopping the actions that started making them successful in the first place. That's why relentless and persistent pursuit/work ethic is what sets most folks apart. If you can keep up the hard work when it stops being fun and becomes more like work, you'll get over the hump. At some point, those habits will become easy again. I compare it to losing weight. At first when you start trying, you see great results.. then the results slow way down and you feel like it's harder and harder to stay on track. Most people give up at this point. But then, if you keep going, you come back around and start having success again and it all becomes habit and easier. We need to help folks learn how to get past this hump so that the habits of success become part of normal every day living. Whether it's a diet or your music career.
Brian
PS: Great post by the way!
