I regularly get emails from musicians, recently someone brought up the question of whether or not and how indie artists sales could be counted. Seems there are only a couple of organizations that do it and only for members. i think we should come up with a way to be counted!!! also as indie artists if we had such a system the bars could be set lower. Seems like a great idea to me. what do ya'll think? I mean apparantly the RIAA issues a gold record for digital download sales of only 100k. Sure that's still a whole lot of downloads, but it's over the life of the song and it sounds like a number even a indie could aim for. Perhaps the indie awards could be half or a tenth of the industry's standards. thoughts?
