Here is a tune my brother and I began working on about 8 months BEFORE 9/11. It was kind of a tribute to the emergency services folks. However it sat unfinished for MONTHS until 9/11 inspired me to finally finish it. So it's not exactly a 9/11 song, but it expresses the sentiment we all felt for the people that risked their lives in order to save others. I've been out of the loop and loopy while an old injury had to be beaten back into submission. Anyway, I'm back rat-a-tatting at the computer and wanted to participate in this thread. My 9/11/01 song came from taking a bite out of the big apple just a month before this most life-changing event, having extensively toured and tasted life in the lower part of Manhattan. It also came from conversations with a cousin who left the shadow of the Empire State Building for the safety of the suburbs of NJ less than a year before, only to find out that while her family's friends from the city survived, many of the parents of her children's new friends perished. I wanted it to be a life tribute, so I chose a latin rhythm to be juxtaposed against the lyrics. It's called "Silenced." Here's the link: http://donnaklein.com/sounds/DonnaKleinSilenced.mp3 Thanks for starting this thread, Jak. If I don't see you before, I'll see you at Charley's music camp in October! Hi Jak, I have a song called "the Rain Fell Down" Unfortunatly I don't have it where I can post it here. It is on my new CD "Betty". I will say that it has gotten airplay on a librial talk show out of Bradenton called the "Bud Beck show" I got a call from someone who wants me to perfom it at the next Democratic Meetup wednesday night in Sarasota. ------------------ James www.JRHawkins.com

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
